The Defiant was commissioned and placed under the command of Comdr Sisko. The Defiant�s first mission was to locate the Founder�s Home world, in which the Defiant was heavily damaged. (DS9 The Search, DS9N Avatar Timeline, TCT Sisko Biography, SCIII Manual) Lt Thomas Riker hijacks the Defiant and invades Cardassian space enroute to the Orias System. Only with the help of Gul Dukat, Capt Sisko was able to retake the Defiant. (DS9 Defiant, The Badlands Bk2 Pt 1, TNGN Imzadi II: Triangle, TNGN A Time to Hate) A founder infiltrates the Defiant and sabotages the ship to attack the Tzenkethi. (DS9 The Adversary, DS9N MG: Lesser Evil) In an alternate timeline, the Defiant was thrown five thousand years in to the past. This Defiant was found in Earth�s oort cloud in a comet. In the present timeline, Sisko took the Defiant into the wormhole to go and rescue the Sreba. The Defiant found out who was the Unclean species were and stopped their attempt to destroy the wormhole and use it as a time portal. (DS9N Invasion: Time�s Enemy) The Defiant was transporting a group of USS Saratoga survivors when Lt Lopez sabotaged the vessel to make it look like the ship would be destroyed. He wanted to have the old Saratoga survivors to become incubators for a rare organism that he would sell to the Retizians. Capt Sisko was able to stop him, fight off the Retizian vessels and take the Defiant back to DS9. The Defiant, later, took the survivors to Utopia Planitia. (DS9N Saratoga)

The Defiant rescued the USS Rubicon when it went lost in the Tempest storm. (DS9N Tempest) The Defiant went to meet with a Karemma vessel to discuss trade when they are attacked by Jem�hadar attack ship. The Defiant was damaged fighting the attack ship in the atmosphere of a gas giant. (DS9 Starship Down, SCE VI: War Stories) The Defiant went to the Cha�xirrac to rescue the survivors of the research vessel, Victoria Adams. The Defiant and a Klingon vessel were able to stop the intentional comet bombardment by the Cardassian vessel, Olixander. (DS9N DOH: Armageddon Sky) The Defiant was sent to Torga IV to help salvage a Jem'hadar attack ship. (DS9 The Ship) The Defiant stopped the IKS M�Char from searching the SS Xhosa. The Defiant went to meet with the Cardassian vessel, Prakesh, to pick up members of the Detapa Council. The Defiant fought against Klingon vessels. (DS9 Way of the Warrior) The Defiant was in drydock for repairs. (DS9 YR Trapped in Time) Dr Lenara Kahn used the Defiant to help successfully create a wormhole for a second. (DS9 Rejoined) The Defiant was sent to help retake the hijacked USS Enterprise. (TNGN Ship of the Line) The Defiant went to Trill and stopped Verad from taking over the Trill Symbiosis commission. (DS9N LOD: Reflections) The Defiant took Sisko and Quark to Mephil Trantos to search for the origins of the infected replicators on Orion worlds. The Defiant was transporting the Orb of Time from Cardassia when it was sent back in time to 2267. The Defiant was able to get back to 2373. (DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations) The Defiant went to Torga IV to tow a crashed Jem�hadar vessel to Deep Space Nine. (DS9 The Ship) Under the command of Lt. Comdr Worf, the Defiant fought the Borg Invasion with the Typhon Fleet. The Defiant was heavily damaged and was abandoned. (FC, N, TNGN Imzadi II: Triangle) The Defiant discovered a Maquis Base in the Terikof Belt. The Defiant was then sent to find the AQS in the Badlands, but they encountered the IRW Bokra. The Defiant was unable to capture the AQS. (The Badlands Bk2 Pt2) The Defiant went to investigate a distress call, when the ship was pulled in the Mist People�s reality. The Defiant went to stop the Mist Colonists from pulling DS9 into their reality. The crew of the Defiant were able to convince the Mist People to bring in the Klingon vessels and the USS Madison to help fight the colonists. The crew of the Defiant found out that the Mist People were lying and fought to bring back DS9 into normal reality. The Defiant was able to succeed. The Defiant led a Federation Fleet to retake Deep Space Nine. (DS9 Sacrifice of Angels, DS9 Favor the Bold) The Defiant went to look for the USS Amhurst, but was tested by Metreon. (SNW I: Where I Fell Before My Enemy) The Defiant is damaged in battle with a Grigari vessel. (TF) Later that year, the Defiant took part in the 1st Battle of Chin'toka. (DS9 Tears of the Prophets) It was Kieran Duffy�s old post. (TDW Field Expediency) The Defiant responded to the USS Olympia�s distress call. The crew talked with Capt Cusak the entire trip to the Rutherian System. When, the Defiant arrived, the Olympia crashed three years ago. The distress call was sent back through time. (DS9 The Sound of Her Voice, DS9N MIL: The Fall of Terok Nor) The Defiant went on escort duty to the Vega System. The SS Xhosa was part of the convoy. The Defiant was used to make a sensor map of DS9. The command crew evacuated to the Defiant and tried to rescue DS9 inhabitants when the red orbs were joined. The Defiant was thrown to the year 2400. (DS9N MIL: The Fall of Terok Nor) The Defiant went on a mission to rescue Thomas Riker from the Cardassian prison on Lazon II. The Defiant fought its way through a small Cardassian fleet and Thomas Riker escaped to be with the Maquis. (SNW08 Promises Made) The Defiant and the IKS Hutlh fought against four Dominion vessels. The Defiant was part of the Federation Task Force sent to retake Betazed. (TNGN The Battle of Betazed) The Defiant was at Kalandra with seven vessels waiting for Martok�s Raiders. (DS9 Once More Unto the Breach) The Defiant took supplies to AR-558. The Defiant battled the Jem�hadar here. (DS9 The Siege of Ar-558) Later that year, the Defiant destroy six Jem�hadar fighters with Lt. Illario at the helm for the first time. (DS9 Field of Fire) The Defiant was sent to search for the Koraga�s survivors. (DS9 Penumbra) The Defiant was damaged in battle against three Jem�hadar Fighters. (SNW III: The Best Defense) The Breen Energy Weapon at the Second Battle of Chin�Toka destroyed the Defiant. In an AU 2400, Starfleet vessels attacked the Defiant and mines were attached to the hull. The Bajoran Ascendancy ship, Boreth, took the Defiant into tow. The Defiant was towed to Empok Nor near the entrance of the two wormholes. The Defiant�s engines were gutted by the Ascendancy. Capt Sisko and the Defiant survivors were able to escape to the Defiant, when the two wormholes collided. (DS9N MIL: The War of the Prophets) The Defiant was thrown into limbo with the Boreth. The Defiant survivors on the Defiant were able to beam to DS9 during two time periods. Comdr Arla was taken over by the Grigari nanites and held Jake Sisko hostage. Jake tried to do a plan that would correct the timeline with the Defiant�s warp core, but the Boreth did it first. The USS Garneau towed the Defiant to DS9.
