Star Trek News

New Twist in the Save Enterprise Campaign

In yet another twist in the ongoing saga of trying to save Enterprise from the TV scrap heap, it has recently been announced that an anonymous contribution of $3 million by members of the commercial space flight industry has been pledged towards the campaign to keep the show going at least one more year. TrekUnited head Tim Brazeal says that this generosity is overwhelming. "We believe that Enterprise deserves a future," he says.

The benefactors' statement on SaveEnterprise.com says that the people responsible for airing this kind of television have a responsibility: inspiration. They go on to note that at least 50% of all the entrepreneurs in this industry have been inspired by Star Trek.

Under the terms of the TrekUnited charter, the money pledged will go towards anything that will guarantee a fifth season of the show. However, it is still unclear whether any amount of money will bring the show back. Production is currently scheduled to finish next Tuesday, March 8.

USS Alliance

The Alliance has been instructed to make contact with a civilization
on the edge of developing warp drive. However, they're not the only
ones interested, the Taviston Hegemony are also interested in this
proud warrior culture.

Due to this the Alliance has sent the one man who could possibly
understand their mentality as their chief diplomat - MCapt Slaine...
But what are the Taviston up to? What is their interest? Will CEO
McCoy survive her duel to the death?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

USS Horatio Nelson

The USS Horatio Nelson-A spent time at Starbase-25 for some much needed downtime and R& R. While at the SB the crew got together for Western style Poker Party arranged by none other than our XO Cmdr Shyloe Townsend-McNitt. After the Party RAM was summoned by the Admiral to help stop a 600 year old war and make peace. This is the first diplomatic mission for the new Captain of the HN-A.

USS Washington

The early part of the month saw the crew finishing the mission to either save or destroy the Constitution class Defiant.  After a brief R&R at Starbase 25, the W is back on duty...this time investigating a dead body floating in space.  The body was too far from any planet for known transporter tech to be responsible.  There was no evidence of a ship having been destroyed to account for the body just floating in space.  But the autopsy supports some type of alien transporter malfunction.  After some careful scientific sleuthing, the crew has determined the probable source...a planet that currently displays pre-warp civilization only.  So, where did they get such powerful transporter technology?

Rookies (or more accurately, new players)

Eric who plays Sasha on the HN has created another Rihannsu character for the Washington. (This one is a pure blood.)  SubCenturian Eviess t'Rennikh is a Romulan Exchange officer filling the role of Communications Officer.  We welcome Eviess out-of-character, in spite of the fact that the crew doesn't yet trust her.  :-)

Hi all,

Capt. Ryan Storm here! As some of you know and those of you who don’t will now find out, I have been going through a load of real-life stuff. As a result, I must step down as Captain of the Excalibur and as Fleet Newsletter editor. I will be moving from my home in NY to live in North-Central PA. I will be without computer access for about 3-4 months. As soon as I can get back to the Fleet, I will attempt to do so. I’m sorry the Newsletter is so short this month, but this is all of the information I received and I didn’t have a whole lot of time to contact others for more.  I hope to return soon. Keep the Fleet strong.

Steve

AKA

Capt. Storm
