FPF Newsletter - April 2005

Welcome new crewmembers and hello to the rest of you.  As you have probably heard, Steve (aka Steve Latinner, W) and me, Kay Savacool (aka Shyloe Townsend-McNitt, HN) have volunteered to take on this endeavor from the LOA Capt. Ryan Storm of the Excalibur.  We hope you enjoy our spin on this edition. We both thank Ryan (Steve Gione) for all his previous hard work and I hope we can continue the tradition.

Fleet Announcements & News

First, please check out the wonderful new Ship Plaques that Jade has updated.  They are awesome.  Fine job, Jade.

Second, a little shuffling has occurred in the FPF hierarchy, although it affects FPF Administration mainly, not the Ships of FPF.  Chief Administrator of FPF is now under Admiral James “Rook” Mirtoh, played by the one and only Russ Robinson.  He assumes the duties that Vice Admiral N’Var has stepped away from for RL.  And Rear Admiral MacGyver has been slowly returning from RL issues.

U.S.S. Academy Section

Congratulations to Mu'rao Lucas of the USS Horatio
Nelson! He has now officially graduated from
Far Point
Fleet Academy
. Great job Lucas, keep up the good
work!

Sadly, this will be the last column for the academy. I
do say this with some sorrows, because I did put forth
a hard effort to help new simmers out. Unfortunately,
I have to admit the format wasn't productive enough.
Too many were slipping through the cracks.

However, on a happier note I do see great potential
and hope in a possible mentoring program that will be
launched in the future. So keep your ears and eyes
open for it.

I do want to thank all who helped and participated in
the academy. I couldn't do it without you.
Congratulations to all who graduated, you did awesome!

If you are currently enrolled in the academy and want
to finish the curriculum, just e-mail me. I will let
any cadet who wants to finish, complete the work. You
will be recognized for it.

The academy however will not be accepting any more
applications.

Thanks to all again. It's been great trek!

Live Long and Prosper,
Jade

U.S.S. Washington Section

Captain Nniol N’Var has moved forward.  He has taken an administrative position as Vice Admiral of SB25.  The Captaincy has been turned over and accepted by Danen K’agi Lrunin.  Congrats, Kaye!

Mission Summary:
A dead body is found while the
Washington is on patrol.  Intrigues fly when the body is autopsied and turns up to be a freak transporter accident.  The Washington crew's investigation leads them to a planet called Delvia, whose people aren't what they seem.   A seemingly conservative and xenophobic society who has startlingly powerful technology.

U.S.S. Alliance-A Section

Ok this month on the Alliance has been rather eventful to say the least.

Last time the
Alliance had arrived at a planet on the brink of warp
flight, with another culture vying for their membership, and with
Lt(jg) McCoy in a duel to the death.

Well the Lt, managed a superb display to beat her opponent, the
Emperors wife, and impress the Yethinki. Despite that the Yethinki
declined both Federation and Taviston membership, in response to being
denied the planets Dilithium deposits the Taviston Forces attacked,
and despite a heroic struggle from both the indigenous inhabitants and
the Alliance and her fighters, the Yethinki were able to unleash a
biogenic plague on the planet, wiping out the planets population, with
the carnage beneath them the Alliance left with very little and
returned home.

However a new chapter now begins, the Alliance has a new captain and
is now escorting a colony ship to a fresh virgin world. Typically
though the
Alliance received a distress call, but found it a decoy, it
is at this moment rushing back to the Colonists ship which is under
attack!

Promotions and New Players:

Firstly, it's with a heavy heart the
Alliance's Captain James Harris has
retired to go to pastures new, we wish him all the best.

As such Lt. Cmdr. Amman Desai has been promoted to Captain, and the
ships new CO. As such M.Capt. Slaine has been promoted to XO.

Also Lt(jg) McCoy has been promoted to Lt and also ships 2O.
Lt(jg)
Wilson has also been promoted to Lt.
Sgt Marko has been promoted to 2nd Lt and Marine Commander

Congratulations to them.

As for new players, the Alliance has been inundated!

Firstly, Sgt Caleb Tanner (marine Squad 3) joined (better known as Adm.
MacGyver), she has joined the crew alongside Sgt Lucas Dubois (Marine
Squad 2) As well as Lt (jg) Peter Hogan and finally Ens. Aaron Cole, our
new Ops Officer. I welcome them all on board and hope they enjoy their
time onboard.

the fleet or at least on the Excalibur.
