Fleet Announcements and Ship News

Daylight Savings Time began at the end of the month for most of us and Halloween came and went.  Hope everyone's was a happy one and all the little 'trick or treaters' got what they wanted.

For Immediate Release:  Danen Llurin, aka Kaye, has announced her retirement from the Captaincy of the USS Washington recently.  She has a great opportunity to study in The Netherlands and we wish her all good things and prosperity.  She will, however, try to remain semi-active with her minor characters on the other ships.  She is unsure of the future use or time of computer access.  She'll keep us informed and post herself out in a month's time.  We shall miss you our 'maganda' Captain....

The USS Ranger took off successfully and is still on it's first mission away from 'home'.  Their website is really unique and well done.

The USS Horatio Nelson changed it's colors on the yahoo group site.  Love it!  CO H'Lai seems to be a very creative individual.

I haven't been able to find out much on the USS Alliance or the USS Excalibur lately.  Please don't hesitant to drop me a line or two anytime.  I like news of any type.

Ship Summaries and Promotions

*Alliance

Mission Synopsis
The Alliance whilst still investigating this abandoned station (which
surprise wasn't) it became apparent that Aliens from another dimension
were attempting to terraform the planet by using a virus to alter
every organic organism on the planet. Unfortunately wiping out an
entire civilization in the process, and also trying to terraform others.

The Alliance though Destroyed their gateway and as such thwarted their
plans, for now.  We'd also like to welcome our two new Medical Officers Niza Zeti and
Kimball Ohara

As for Promotions, the only one this week is to Ens. Tyr Federich to
lt (j.g)

*Washington

"Breath of the Prophets":  The USS Washington's mission takes confusing twists and turns when they find out that the "Carriers" are in fact working for a secret faction out to get the Orb of the Inevitable for their own personal agenda. Lives are lost, unexplainable phenomena occur, and the Washington is stuck in the middle of "get-and-deliver-the-cargo-mission" gone awry.

Dr. Toni Ann Cattivo from Full Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander. The Doctor, despite her player's busy schedule has been contributing more this month ever since I assumed command of the Washington. Since then I have been monitoring her progress and it's been now that she has been posting/contributing frequently than ever.

Lt. Commander Thora Samuels from Lt. Commander to Full Commander. Since I assumed command of this vessel, Thora's player has always been a constant poster. Although some of her posts are curt, some if not most of them, have relevant content.

*Excalibur

Summery: After dealing with the mysterious investigators from Starfleet
Intelligence, Doctor Jantika and Commander Chauncey take their
daughter out for a day on the Promenade.  While out there Susil
notices a familiar face and people stalking the person.  Calling on
assistance from Lt Tyyne, the two women manage to avert an
assassination attempt.  However one of the assassin's weapon's goes off
and places the Doctor's life in jeopardy.  The would be target is Dr
Nyliss of the FDTI from Susil's home time.  Nyliss takes both Jantika
and Chauncey to the future to try to save the doctor's life.
Meanwhile the Captain and the base CO have it out over the damage on
the deck while Tyyne plays babysitter.

Most improved poster:  This month my own XO has made some of her best
posts in a long time and I want to congradulate her on them.  See
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ussexcalibur4399/message/1122 and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ussexcalibur4399/message/1131 to read
what she did.  Excellent job First.

Captain's Notes:  I want to say thank you to all the crew this month
for some of the best posts ever onboard in a long time.  We did some
really good in depth posting.  So good in fact that I've had several
comments that even though we only did 15 actual posts it seemed like
so much more.  I hope to see more of this in the future.  Bravo Zulu, crew

*Ranger

Mission Synopsis:
Juntol, a protectorate of the SB #25 and the Federation, is under
attack by an unknown Alien threat. The planet's food supply has been
diverted and the hungry people are now rioting. Keeping in mind that
in name, the Ranger doesn't exist yet, Starbase #25 Command requested
assistance to deal with the growing problems on Juntol, upon the
destruction of one of their shuttlecraft filled with MACO's. The
mission of the NCC-75204 is to muster a mixed crew of Marines and
Starfleet personnel alike, to respond to the planet Juntol in order
to neutralize the Alien threat, pacify the now riotous citizenry, and
ensure proper allocation of basic necessities.

Rookie of the Month: 2nd Lt Camber Daphos (Maje) – Though Maje comes
to us with SIM experience, our brand is completely new to her. Yet,
she has managed to adjust nicely and produce quality as well as
quantity in her posts. Great job!

Honorable Mention: Ensign Jaquelin Van Hallen (Wenche) – Wenche is
new to our brand of SIM and is also overcoming a language barrier to
boot. She's a pleasure to have aboard!

*Horatio Nelson

Where’s our J-H-E-L-L-O-?
With the arrival of the new Commanding Officer, and several new officers, they are thrown into what is considered a dire emergency. Their Chief Science Officer, Lt. Cdr. Lemone Jhelloh has gone missing.
With Starfleet Intellegence, and the brass of Starfleet Command breathing down their necks, they are on a hurry, they have to find, Dr. Jhelloh, who is very pregnant, and has a dark secret, that only she, her past commanding officers, and her lover only knows…
Genesis Submitted in conjunction with Major Reenal Torbin, and Lt. Cdr. Lemone Jhelloh
Eventhough it has been a trying month, with all the new changes and everything, it was well worth it. Thru the initial bumps and bruises, we have our family. Our strong family, a mixture of new blood and old blood. It is kind of confusing, the majority of the new recruits, may be new to the farpoint fleet, but for the lot of them, I have simmed with them before, on various other ships, most of them are from my olden days of another ship that I commanded in another fleet. Than there is the old blood, again, most of them new to me, even though I have been here for a while, the point is, we have our family now, and I am proud to command them in our future triumphs.

Promotions:
Lt. Cdr. Lemone Jhelloh to Commander
Marine Captain Reenal Torbin to Executive officer, and Major
Lieutenant Kenneth Zisa, to Second Officer, and strategic operations officer and fleet liason officer and Lt. Cdr.
Ensign J.R. Hutton Weapons Expert, to Lt. (jg) posting tally, well done!

Editor's Note/Opinion

Several Captains have mentioned a MVP (Most Valuable Poster) in their own newsletters.  I have to step in here and say that the rules state in order to recommend this crewman, the CO has to submit several examples of why they should receive such an award in the Fleet.  These examples include recruiting, posting total increase, a ship/fleet advancement (not easily recognized by most), an ability to interact with their their fellow crewman and basically helped the ship out more than the CO, for lack of better terminology.  So crewman, please do not hesitate to tell your CO that there is someone you think special and site examples.  They do watch, but you could help them out here and earn a point or two in their eyes. *wink*

We've had several in my personal opinion...Roger, Bryan and Chris, all from the HN, for an example (I trust you can all add your input here)...all have went above and beyond because an idea was mentioned.  Roger (aka many personas, lol)  for stepping up and leading the HN when it was lacking from leadership for a while due to RL issues of it's CO.  Bryan (aka Kyle Lamorak, now CO of the Ranger) commanded just as well but recruited beyond most of our conceivable minds!  And Chris (aka Kenneth Zisa) took control and made the soundtracks of FPF's main ships theme songs from the start.  They proved that a person can make a difference.

There are other 'Commendations' a crewman can get.  I've received two myself in the last two years (but can't find them anywheres, Jack!).  Captains, please allow that tradition to continue and post it on your website.  I want all ship's to retain a 'past crewmans manifest WITH bios'.  That way, a former crewman may have a way back-if they left with a reason and dignity.

So, the NL is done and  final words are; Please let me know if you've found your personal inspiration from a CO or other crewman.  It will only help make us closer and I like that idea a lot.

Good Night and Good Luck,

Kay
