FPF General Regulations

1

Characters should be original.

While you can take a first name from a character you like, and a last name from a different character, you cannot use the entire name from an existing character in published literature or media.  For example, you may be Jean Luc Skywalker or Luke Picard, but you cannot be Jean Luc Picard or Luke Skywalker.  Characters should not be related in first generation to a known canon character.  Second generation or more is acceptable.  That means a character may be the grandchild, or niece/nephew, etc. of known characters, but not the child, parent, sibling, etc.

2

Super characters are prohibited.

Your character can be from any intelligent species in Star Trek. However, players are cautioned that their character must be believable and cannot possess extreme powers.  No assimilated Borg, Q, etc.   No species from other "media."  Wookies are not found in the Star Trek universe.  Neither are animae characters, spiderman or x-men.

3

One character per ship.

Players are not allowed to have two characters on the same ship.  Players are permitted to have a second character on a different ship in the fleet, but the characters must have different names and their ranks will not correspond.  Players are discouraged from having more than 2 characters.

4

One command level character per player.

Players are restricted to one character operating at command level ( CO, XO, 2O) within the fleet.  Command level officers may have non-command level characters on other ships.

5

The fleet is rated PG-13.

Players are prohibited from using extensive or graphic violence, profanity, or sexual content in posts.

6

No double posts.

Players cannot post twice in a row unless 24 hours have passed between the two posts.

7

Some actions require the CO's permission.

Only the CO may authorize destruction of the ship, or death of a player character.

Only the CO may authorize a player to start or end a mission.

8

Players must post in the ship's established posting format.

Each ship's CO will determine the posting format or style (Script or Novel or both) for the ship.  Players must use the posting format endorsed by their ship.

9

Posting standards.

Each CO will determine the minimum number of posts required for players to remain on active duty.  Players are encouraged to post at least once a week.

10

Chain of Command.

All players must respect the chain of command and follow the rules set forth by their CO and XO.

If conflict arises in which the players cannot resolve the issue themselves, the players involved should attempt to reach resolution through their CO.  If the CO is unable to provide resolution, the CO should pass the situation on to the Fleet Administration for further attempts at resolution.
