| Ropes Course at the Boys & Girls Republic in Farmignton on Monday, June 22, 2007. Activity sequences are designed to challange the participants as they work together to complete tasks and achieve goals. The level of challange is based on age, ability, and the comfort level of of participants. Activities are designed to create challanging moments where valuable learning takes place. It is expected that groups may struggle or reach a "crunch point" during the events. The facilitators then lead activity debriefing where participants discuss activity outcomes and make real life connections. The debriefing centers on the thoughts, ideas and feelings of the participants. During the debriefing students will identify the characteristics of effective teamwork and strategies to achieve goals. By making a real connection to the school environment, they also develop a deeper understanding of course content and interpersonal behavior. |
