Oklahoma - Arkansas Deharts

The Oklahoma - Arkansas Deharts came from the same lineage as most of the other Deharts that have sites; Symon Jacobus to Aert Symonsz to Simon Aertzen to Elias Simon to Simon to Elias Simon to Nathan to Eli Martin.

Something that makes us unique is the fact that we have just found each other in the last couple of years, and we are looking for others that are still lost to us. There apparently was something that happened that split the family apart a generation or so ago; so that those living only fifty miles from each other, never knew about the others. Some of the cousins have the original DeHart name; others the changed Dehart name. It matters not, we are still cousins.

There have been many word of mouth stories that have been told in the families over the years. Some have proved true, others we can not prove. One of those we cannot prove is the one about being Cherokee Indian; although even the family members that would be less than 1/8 Indian have some of the Indian characteristics.

I wish to thank Myrna Wells for putting her ad on a bulletin board, for without her, I would not have found my many cousins.

I also wish to thank the cousins, for without them, the pieces to the family puzzle would not be fitting into place.

If you see anyone that you are related to, please contact me or our group. Our group of cousins will be glad to hear from you and invite you into our family.
