Our John Deere 9400T (...draining the liquid ballast tanks) |
The Goal: To interface our Outback S GPS guidance system into the steering on our John Deere 9400T The Limitations: - The modification had to be reversable. No perminant changes could be made with regards to operation of the tractor or GPS system. - The GPS system had to be easily removable from the tractor for use on other machinery. - The interface to the GPS had to be either native to the system or optically isolated as to not possibly wreck the unit. The Solution: Using RC aircraft technolgy, read the optical output from the GPS unit and mechanically manipulate the steering system on the tractor. The End Result: There are several parts to this system, all tied together.
