A New Deck |
In July of 2004 we started an early Saturday morning with building this deck.
The door you see also did not exist. The deck is 2 levels with a hot tub
in the far corner. The deck is just over 300 sq. feet and made of cedertone
spruce. The deck was supposed to properly incorporate the tub which
had been purchased a couple of months prior. With the door installed
in the location it is now, the owners wanted to have close access to the tub
as in winter, the fewer steps over an icy deck, the better. There was also
supposed to be plenty of room for the patio set, as seen and plenty of yard
access. The privacy wall near the back with partially surrounds the tub cuts
wind and visibility from the north and gives a place to hang your towel.
Other design considerations included the basement windows (Seen to the right
of the deck, there is another behind the tub on the left side.) which had to
be kept accessable for fire escape reasons. Click the thumbnails for larger
images. I am definitly not the only person who worked on this deck but worked with Dave and George, were major players who had experience, as well as Theresa, Sarah, Jodi and Adam. |
