1929 John Deere D
The carburetor was rebuilt by Mark's Carburetor and Magneto in Rice, MN
and a rebuilt Splitdorf magneto was purchased from Ken Branson
Enterprises in Lovespark, Il. The oil system was pressurized to
ensure oil flow to engine bearings before the engine was sealed. Heating
up the cylinders with a hair dryer, pouring a little gas into the
carburetor, and pulling the flywheel produced the first combustion in
many, many years. |
