| Something in Return By Jessica Goodman Here I am Counting away more minutes Realizing all of which, Have been spent without you I sit here with the phone to my ear, With nothing more than a ringing to comfort me Can I ask you why Im this way? Why Im here with this phone, And this empty heart and wondering mind? I sit here knowing me, Knowing all my fears and dreams, Realizing all of which, You dont know, Nor do I know yours Ill probably sit here a while longer, Trying to see, trying to expect less Because I usually get nothing more Can I ask you why you dont see me? Why Im here thinking, instead of knowing you? I sit here memorizing this melody, Relating to its every second Realizing, I dont know how to relate to you So can I ask you Can I have something in return? |
