| The first song Mike learned to play was Ozzy's "Crazy Train". Brandon plays a Didjeridu, and a drum called Djembe. Dirk's favorite bass player is Steve Harris from Iron Maiden. Incubus saw a therapist before recording Make Yourself. The result was a more functional group. The first song Mike mastered playing on guitar was Metallica's "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)". Brandon wrecked his car while they were mixing the song "Drive". The first gig they ever played was a "Sweet 16" birthday in a friend's backyard. "New Skin" is Brandon's version of the chaos theory. To keep themselves busy on the bus while touring, they do such things as: watch lots of movies, read, or play video games. (Tony HawkPro Skater is a favorite) Mike's early influences are Primus, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. When asked if he wears boxers or briefs, Brandon's answer is: "Boxer briefs, Sounds very political, but true". Before the band chose the name Incubus, Brandon wanted the name to be "Spiral Staircase", and Dirk wanted the name to be "Chunk O Funk". Jose's worst day job - Working in a Mexican restaurant. It was Santa Fe Cafe. He loved the food though. Brandon and Jose were the illustrator's on the "Drive" video. The "Drive" video won The Music Video Production Association's Video of The Year Award in 2001. Brandon once obtained a job working in the concession area of a movie theater. He made it through training but quit when he realized that he would have to wear a uniform that required wearing a bow tie. By partnering with Honda and Headlining the Civic Tour, Incubus are able to perform shows in venues large enough to accommodate their ever growing fan base and still, most important to the band, keep the ticket prices for their fans affordable. |

| Brandon was in a programme at elementary high school called GATE (Gifted And Talented Education). He got involved with it due to his high IQ level. Mike claims that he considered getting a 'mullet hat' for the Ozzfest (chequered hat with two flaps in the back). "Either you wear it because you're not cool enough to have a mullet, or your mullet is so bitchen that the hat protects it from the sun!" Brandon lost his virginity at the age of fifteen. "Half of the time was spent going 'shh shh', knowing my parents were in the next room," he says. Kilmore says he's had a dream in which he went backstage with a folding chair and started beating their stage tech over the head with it! The band once left Jose in a German truck stop for about six hours. He got off without telling anyone, and the rest of the band was asleep. Brandon used to go to church with his family every Sunday. "When I was about 9 or 10 the priest was accused of sexually molestring our neighbour's daughter." Jose has a phobia of dogs. "I can't even walk on the same side of a street as a dog," he says. When Brandon was 15 his parents divorced after having been married for 20 years. "They wanted to wait until we were old enough to handle it, so they did." In 2000 Jose underwent laser treatment to correct his defective vision. "I couldn't feel it actually. It just got totally blurry for a second or two, then I smelled some burning flesh. When they put the cornea back down, I could see well." Brandon would like to be reincarnated as an animal. "I'd like to come back as a sea creature or a pet, and just get waited on." According to Jose, S.C.I.E.N.C.E. stands for 'Some Cocks In Europe Never Come Easily'. Brandon has a soft spot for England because of his ex-girlfriend Joanna Bourne-Taylor. "Every time I go over there, it's romantic, it reminds me of her," he says. Sometimes Jose wears a little 'perv tache' (moustache). When Brandon was 15 he got an owl tattooed on his back. "I knew I wasn't going to be persuing a carreer that having a tattoo would hinder, like in the business world or office." Mike and Brandon did the scratching on Magic Medicine. DJ Lyfe was not in the studio due to conflicts between the members of the band. Brandon admits to having committed several crimes, but not real crimes. "Smoking pot, drinking under-age, being out past curfew... silly things!" Dirk says that he enjoyed reading Vladimir Vladimirovich Nobokov's tale of underage promiscuity, 'Lolita' because "it's the story of Mike's life!" In 1998 Brandon took in some photos of himself to a British modelling agency. "They asked me to join them, but I don't know if I'm the right guy for that." Mike claims that he stole a pipa (instument used on Aqueous Transmission) from Steve Vai's bathroom! Brandon used to work for his dad as a 'janitorial engineer'. "I did a bit of carpentry with a hammer and saw, making storage boxes and stuff like that." |
