Sephia woke up when someone called her name. She opened an eye and saw Mewtwo. "I'm tired. I wanna sleep!", she muttered and turned around.
"We want to go now. It's already ten o'clock!", he answered. Seeing that he would annoy her until she got up, she opened the other eye and sat up slowly.
'I want a cookie!', Mew shouted in her ear and now she was fully awake.
"Mew, don't scream like that!", Sephia said angry, but she grabbed her bag and took out the cookie. Mew smiled and nuzzled her. Sephia handed her the cookie, stood up and looked around. All six Pok�mon sat near her.
"Are you alright? How was it in the Pok�balls? Sorry I needed that long to walk through the city."
'It was ok. Not bad or anything, but freedom is better.', Articuno answered and the others nodded.
'Nice jacket. Where is it from?', Zapdos asked suddenly. Sephia blushed deeply when her thoughts flashed back to Lance. The Pok�mon looked at her, puzzled.
"Sephia? Are you alright?", asked Suicune and stepped to her. Sephia snapped out of her daydream and looked at her friend. "Uh, yes I'm ok...it's a long story....", she answered.
'Mewtwo said that someone tried to rape you", Moltres said. 'Are you sure that you are ok?'
"Yes, I'm fine. It was just a mistake, nothing happened. It's a crazy story."
'I wanna hear it!', squeaked Mew and flew to Sephia. The others nodded. Sephia took a deep breathe.
"Ok, I'll make it short. I got lost in some lanes and I walked until I reached a dead end with a wall. I build a tower with crates and managed to climb the whole thing after a beggar followed me. But then, I jumped down the wall and injured my leg."
'Are you hurt?', asked Mew. 'I can heal you...maybe.'
"No, Mew, I'm really fine, just listen to the rest. Well, finally I reached a residential quarter, but I still had to walk a long way and my leg hurt, so I looked around and when I haven't seen anyone, I wanted to call one of you out. But suddenly this man stood behind me and he wanted to see you - my Pok�mon."
"A thief!", Suicune growled, but Sephia shook her head.
"No. But I was afraid and tried to run away, but he grabbed my arm. Somehow, I managed it and escaped, but he ripped my shirt away in the process."
Mew flew up and hid behind Mewtwo, afraid.
"Well, I ran away and bumped into another man." Sephia blushed again. "He said that he would protect me and he gave me his jacket. Two women were with him and one of them knocked my pursuer down. But then, it was found that the pursuer was a friend of the three others and that he thought that I was a member of Team Rocket."
Zapdos and Moltres started laughing like crazy, Articuno shook his head in disbelieve and Mew hugged Sephia. Finally, the birds caught themselves and Sephia continued.
"I told them that I beat Team Rocket and the other woman called out a Gengar and it read my memory to see if I tell the truth. It told its trainer that I'm not a liar - but don't worry, it promised that it'll say nothing about you. Suddenly, the man who followed me ask me if I don't know him and I said no. They were all very surprised and told me that they are stars, called the 'Elite 4'."
The Pok�mon gasped and Mewtwo growled.
"Yeah, I've heard about them. They are the best trainers in the Pok�mon League. Ha! I could beat them without problems! Just more humans who treat their Pok�mon like slaves!", he claimed angry.
"No!", shouted Sephia. "Lance is a good trainer, he likes his Pok�mon very much!"
All Pok�mon looked at the girl, confused. She blushed again.
"Sephia..." "Yes, Suicune?" "Could it be that you like this man very much?" "Uh...well, at least he lend me his Dragonite for flying out of the city." "And you kept his jacket?" "He allowed me to keep it!"
The five other Pok�mon watched Sephia carefully.
'You love him!', claimed Moltres.
"No! I never was in love with someone, I dunno what love is. I just talked to him a few minutes and he is a star, I'm sure that thousands of girls are in love with him. I would be stupid if I join them in their obsession", she said with a low voice. Mewtwo shook his head.
"Yeah, but you are a human. And humans are stupid", he said, grinning.
Sephia stood up very quickly. "Hey, it doesn't matter what happened, I'm fine and if we sit here any longer, we won't reach your homes today!"
'Home! Home!', squeaked Mew happily and nuzzled Sephia.
'Let's go!', yelled Zapdos and flew up in the air.
'Hey, Zapdos! Stay down or someone will see you!', shouted Articuno and Zapdos landed disappointed.
"Soon you're home and you can fly through the air again", Suicune said. "I have an idea. If you go back into the Pok�balls, I can carry Sephia and we are at home in no time!"
"No! I won't go into the ball again, Suicune", answered Mewtwo and started walking across the field. Sephia shrugged her shoulders and she and the others followed the psychic Pok�mon.
Three hours later, they reached the mountains and the seven friends stopped. Articuno turned around.
'I'm home', he whispered. Sephia nodded.
"So that's the farewell, right?", she asked. Articuno looked down.
'It seems so.' He stepped to Sephia and the girl hugged him, tears in her eyes. She was about to lose one of her friends. Then, Articuno stepped away to Suicune and Sephia brushed the tears off. She watched Articuno how he went to Zapdos and then to Moltres. He jumped back when Moltres' hot feathers touched the icy wings. The bird of fire laughed and Articuno joined in, but it was a sad laugh. Then, he stepped to Mew. The little Pok�mon started crying and Mew buried her face in the blue, soft feathers. Articuno purred and finally Mew let him go. When Articuno stepped to him, Mewtwo looked down.
"Well...I....at least, you aren't so bad...", he stammered. Then, he looked up and his eyes were as cold as usual. "Now go, we are just wasting our time with you."
Articuno smiled. 'Farewell, Mewtwo', he said and stepped back, looking at all his new friends. He blinked the tears in his eyes away. 'Farewell and good luck!', he whispered, turned around and flew away without looking back.
"Let's go", Mewtwo said and walked on. The others needed a few moments for catching themselves before they could continue their way.
Soon, they reached the volcano with the power plant next to it. This time, Sephia tried to stay calm. But it was hard, very hard, when she hugged Moltres. Her left hand laid on the fire, but it was just a little warm and it felt very pleasant. Zapdos' feathers were spiky, but she ignored it and embraced him even more. He rubbed his beak against her cheek and pushed her away then. Mew cried again and flew to Sephia, sobbing in the jacket. Sephia pet her and gulped, trying to blink away the tears.
This time, Mewtwo stayed totally emotionless.
"Farewell", he said, nothing more and Moltres and Zapdos continued to Suicune.
"At least you two can visit each other", she said. The two birds nodded and flew up. They looked down at their friends. Then, they turned around, flying together for a few minutes, then Zapdos shouted a 'Goodbye!' and flew left and then down to the power plant.
Without a word, the remaining four friends walked on.
They stopped two hours later, then sun was ready to go down again. Sephia felt lost without the huge birds around her.
"Now we have to go!", Mewtwo said suddenly and pointed to the wood in front of them. Sephia snapped out of her thoughts and looked at him.
"I see", she whispered.
'Sephia!', yelled Mew and flew to her, hugging her deep.
"Mew..." Sephia embraced the little Pok�mon.
'Thank...thank you for the cookies', Mew sobbed and now Sephia couldn't hold back the tears. She started crying, too, sobbing in the soft fur of her little friend. Finally, she let Mew go and turned to Mewtwo.
He looked at her, saw the tears dropping down her face and the pain in her eyes and when she ran to him and covered her face on his shoulder, he embraced her and for the first time in his life, a tear ran down his face. Gently, he pushed her away.
"Farewell, my friend", he said and turned around, walking into the forest. Mew started to follow him.
"Mew!", Sephia sobbed and the little Pok�mon turned around. Sephia handed her the remaining cookies.
"Please...remember me when you eat them...", she whispered. Mew nodded and flew away fast, her tears falling down on the grass. Sephia watched them until they disappeared in the deep forest.
Then, she felt that Suicune touched her leg.
"Sephia..."
"Yes..."
"May I stay with you?"
Sephia looked down, surprised. The water Pok�mon was crying, too.
"I was always alone and I was happy about it. But now, I know what a friend is and it hurts to lose them. Please, Sephia, I don't want to be alone again, I don't want to lose, you, too...."
Sephia kneeled down. "Suicune...my friend", she whispered.
"Sephia..."
Sephia cried out loud in happiness when Suicune ran into her open arms. Her dried cheeks were wet again when more tears streamed down her face, soaking Suicunes long hair. Finally, she had won a friend forever. But she had lost five others.
