my poems (3!)

This first poem i wrote for my english I class. i got a 100!

"My Love for You"

How much I love you, you will never know.
You hold the key to my cold, bolted heart.
When you are there, I can never feel low.
Now what can I say to make you not part?

Your love surpasses all the rest.
It took control of me, when I saw you.
You know me, after all, beyond the best.
Your love is and will always seem like new.

I do not want to scare you away now.
These words may scare you because they are strong.
If there is another way, tell me how.
I've thought about this moment for so long.

All I can say is I love you today.
I love you so please don't go away.

This second poem was written for my uncle who taught my SAT class. (summer '99)

"Thank You"

Thank  you,
For advocating us to learn;
Not only 500 SAT words (when we only knew a meager few),
But much more with little in return.

Thank you,
For tolerating our loquacious and belligerent ways.
We may have seemed listless and apathetic, yet we were always true.
We'll soon pay you back for your guidance in eclectic ways.

Thank you,
For consistently mentoring us with your vast erudition.
Our future was enhanced; now we have ideas on what we will pursue.
We acclaim you for ameliorating this misunderstood generation.

Thank you for this and more; we'll always revere you until the end.
You will always be in my heart as a great mentor, uncle, and friend.

I have to admit, this one is alittle corny! 3-6-00! for English II H; its kinda cute, right?

"Your Voice of Gold"

Your music holds the key to my soul.
When I hear it, I forget if I was low.
It stirs up emotions that I have never felt before.
It is as if a raging flame is being ignited within my heart.

It takes me to places I have never imagined.
I fly through paradise as the powerful, wonderful words flow off your lips.
Every new song is a fresh destination
That leaves me waiting for the next trip.

Your voice flows into my head constantly.
It is as if it follows me around waiting for when it is needed.
When I am alone and missing you,
Your music seems to show itself then, perhaps to make me love it more.

It keeps me company until I see you at last.
You sing to me and only me, with your heart and soul.
An admiring tear drops to the floor.
I thank God for giving you this voice of gold.
