Another important archive was published from excavations at Rimah in the 1960s.[1] Abu-tab<Sadanu-bel-nisesu The most active
nobles in this archive are Abu-tab<Sadanu-asared (KUR.NA.SAG) and
Abu-tab <Sadanu-bel-nisesu. Since the activities of the two
nobles is almost identical and their floruits cover almost identical
periods of time, the possibility off their being one person has been
mooted. Nothing turns on this for chronological purposes. 14 eponyms are available, of which 6 are definite Shalmaneser and 6 definite TN1 and one (Ber-sumu-lesir) is probable late Shalmaneser. The range of dates here is later than Babu-aha-iddina - commencing in mid-Shalmaneser - the earliest from the sequence being Lulaju (1245) - perhaps indicating a later date for Assur-nadin-sume. The one eponym not previously discussed is Samaš-tukulti (or more likely ...<Samaš-tukulti) - which in the former instance would be a strong candidate for one of the Shalmaneser 1 slots - perhaps as an insertion in the Sequence and, in the latter instance, would be a presently unknown patronymic for one of the eponyms without a known patronymic e.g. Ellil-asared; Sunu-qardu).
Eponyms of Sadanu-asared>Abu-tab are: Adad-sumu-lesir; Itti-ili-asamsu. Itti-ili-asamsu is dated firmly to Adad-nirari 1 through a royal inscription - see Adad-nirari 1 Royal Inscriptions. Adad-sumu-lesir is thus an Adad-nirari 1/Shalmaneser 1 eponym. Habarraru>Sadanu-asared The father of Sadanu-asared - Haburrau - is attested in eponyms Samaš-tukulti and Silli-adad - both of which are plausibly early Adad-nirari 1 or Arik-den-ili eponyms. Erib-ilu>Haburraru Erib-ilu>Haburraru
[2]
is attested in Ibassi-ili - an
Assur-uballit eponym, dateable c 1340. This is one of only a few links from the 13th century
archives to the 14th century archives. Sons of Abu-tab<Sadanu-asared Sons of Abu-tab are attested in the following eponyms: Ber-sumu-lesir.
