VAT15420

Fragment published in cuneiform in Weidner, Inschriften Tukulti-ninurtas, Taf. xii.  Weidner commented on this letter, but did not transliterate it or report on it, other than words cited in table below. It is noted in Grayson, p.78, who mentions that some called [,,]-aha-iddina appears - Grayson noting the similarity to Babu-aha-iddina, described by Grayson as being "chancellor of Assyria during the latter years of Adad-nirari 1", referring to Otten, AfO 19,33-46.  Note that Babu-aha-iddina's correspondence is mostly in Shalmaneser and continues into early Tukulti-ninurta 1 and the suggestion that Babu-aha-iddina was chancellor in late Adad-nirari 1 must be treated with caution,  VAT 15420 is mentioned in Pederson,p54, in archive M4. The phrase "he pardoned his son of the crime" occurs twice (Grayson, 78).
