Older form for Tuttul. Situated on river, in extreme west of upper Mesopotamia. Near to Assyrian centre of Subat-samash. Associated with Ahuna and Zalpah in ARM 1 118

Mentioned with Tuttul and Zalpah in ARM 1 118 and with Zalmakum and Yamhat in ARM II 53. Also towns on E bank originally part of Aštata conquered by Piyassilis of Carchemish on Suppiluliuma's orders: Igall[atum]…., Ahuna, Tirqa per KBo 1:1. Aštata is in relatios with Carchemihs, Halpa and Nihasse (KBo 1:6; 1:4; 4:4) and is placed near Meskene.[1] Cannot be far from road E to Harran thus most S is near Serin, thus placing Tuttul to vicinity of Tell Ahmar.
