about the webmistress.
Given name(s): Miia (Tuulikki).
Sex: Female.
Nationality: Finnish.

Date of birth: May 15, 1990.
Place of birth: Lahti, Finland. (Current residence in Oulu.)
Marital status: Single.
Education: Comprehensive school (1997-2006), upper secondary/high school (2006-[2009]).
Language skills: Finnish - mother tongue, English - fluent, German - good, Swedish - good, and bits of Spanish and Japanese. I also know the basic greetings and phrases of French.
Family members: Father, engineer; mother, chef of a restaurant; a younger brother (b. 1992).
Friends: Several closer ones; five good friends since childhood and a bunch of friends made later. I usually get along with all kinds of people quite fine. (On exception of those I don't like. ;))
Nature: I'm rather social, but not exceptionally so; I love to be around people, but I need some privacy or just a moment alone now and then. I'm a domineering person, and I admit it - not that I'd actually be proud of it. Although I am a proud person, too. Other dominating traits of my person must be ambitiousness, loyalty (I'm absolute with it - you are loyal or you aren't loyal, and that's true in every aspect of your life, especially personal relations) and I have a good sense of humor, I'd say.
Hobbies: I'm very fond of writing - I've done it since I learned to write, and it has always been a way for me to relax and take my mind off things. Reading is an inseparable companion for it, and in fact, I do read more than write. I also do different kind of sports: to mention a few, I've concentrated on swimming for 9 years and volleyball since fifth grade. Besides them, badminton and jogging are in my favorites.
Known in the Net as: nighteyes., with or without the dot, or nighteyes00, usually - also Hthien (LotR) and Jill (PotC).
Favorites:
Authors: John R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, L. M. Montgomery, Robin Hobb, Diana Gabaldon, William Shakespeare, Dan Brown, C.S. Lewis, Oscar Wilde, Glen David Gold, Jane Austen, Louisa M. Alcott, Seita Parkkola & Niina Repo, Philip Pullman, Eoin Colfer, Astrid Lindgren, Douglas Adams, Tuija Lehtinen, Anni Polva.
Books: All books written by the aforementioned, but especially Lord of the Rings, Harry Potters, Anne- & Emily -books, Farseer- and Lord Golden -trilogies, Outlander-series, Shakespeare's Sonnets and plays, Angels and Demons, Narnia -books, Austen's Pride and Prejudice, Artemis Fowls et cetera, et cetera.
Music: My taste in music varies hugely. I have a preference for the music of the 70's, 80's and 90's, and do not usually like the mainstream music they play these days, but to be honest, almost any kind of music goes. On exception of rap and hiphop. To mention a few of the numerous bands (and artists) I listen to, let's name Dire Straits, Queen, Madonna, hide, Dir en grey, X Japan, HIM, 30 Seconds to Mars, Eppu Normaali, Metallica, Depeche Mode, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Beatles, and Nightwish. I'm also very fond of soundtracks: those of the Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Studio Ghibli movies and the Disney movies especially.
Food: Partly in consequence of the fact that my Mother is a chef in a restaurant and that bringing her children up to eat any food they are not allergic to is one of her principles, my taste in food is rather versatile. There is no dish I won't eat, as long as it won't cause me an allergic reaction, that is. Eating whatever food you're offered is a necessity in order to act politely in different situations, isn't it, and making polite people out of her children has also been one of my Mother's principles.
Season: Spring, and winter. There's nothing more beautiful than a bright, cold day of Finnish winter, especially if you have it free and are free to spend it in the nature.
Delicacy: Chocolate - there's nothing ever to beat chocolate. I also love liquorice, raspberry and mint ice cream, Finnish strawberries, Bailey's Irish Cream liqueur, popcorn, croissants, Finnish pulla, hot chocolate, nuts (although I am, alas, a bit allergic to them!) and so on.
Colour: Green, also red, white and the warm colours.
School subject: History, English and Finnish.
