Lauren and I are members of Six Degrees and we met while she was seeking advice before coming on her "Down Under" safari. Ok, on Thursday night (I think I have told you this) she rang me and we spoke for an hour, I think she
figured me out, and arranged to meet in the city. After she rang me, she rang her mom to tell her what happened in her day. Her mom's reaction to arranging
to meet me was "how do you know this guy is not going to kidnap you or something" and Lauren said "no way I think he's alright".
So the scene was set for a meeting, and we met, I did not know what they looked like, but they knew what I looked like. I also told them that I was wearing an orange jacket, my 'meeting people' jacket...anyway so we met at 1pm, walked down, did a bit of shopping, take them to find Lauren's lost property, walk them to the opera house, take some pics, walk through the
botanic gardens, sit down and have an icecream, and did time fly! I had to take them back to the hotel by 5pm because they were going to leave for Ayres Rock at 6am Saturday Morning, so I spent 4 hours showing them a fraction of Sydney, but there was so much that they hadn't seen and I wanted to show them, but it was a matter of time. They even beat me in a game of "Spot the Tourist"-which I am hoping to avenge in Toronto when myself and money have a good relationship!
So after dropping them off at the hotel, I soon felt the effect of walking around Sydney in leather hard soled shoes...Lauren and Heather did most of the speaking that day, I must admit Canadian people do have killer accents! It would have been to say 'yes' to meeting a loony like me. At the end of the day, they thanked me for not being an axe murderer. They met me only a fortnight before I got my Steak Knive Salesman Job...
