| Video Game Review Xenosaga: Der wille zur macht (the will to power) Platform: Ps2 Well ok this game is centered on the Main Anime chick Shion (engineer type of the future) her creation Kos-mos (not Cmos sorry you geeky guys) and the typical cast of add on characters. (the lil anime girl lil anime boy the tough but aloof bad ass who has a soft spot their all there) Game Facts You cant change the look of your characters, its pretty static except weapons do change appearance, just not armor (with one exception) // boo Almost all of which your upgrades will find in stores (boooooo) and rare steals off boss mobs (ie they could drop but your better off use theft skills to pick pocket it) Battles are turn based, And your enemies fall into 3 types Gnosis (ghost type) robot and carbon based, you are given 2 differant types of attacks a ranged 1 and ranged 2, and a melee 1 and a melee2. Each character can perform 2 attacks per turn (later in the game you can replace ranged2/melee2 with ubah attack X which is the way to go because X can be single target line and all enemies on target tech attacks. Tech attacks and unique to each class and each class has several differant ones ranging from melee to ranged to ranged AE, you earn them by lvl finding things in game and spending your tech pts to upgrade their Atk speed and bind to O key (bind to O should be done first then speed then build attack) but the ummm twist that rpgs feel the need to pump in there is a battle meter that goes up with dmg (given and received) which allows you to 'boost' to skip the current que of turns to go next. The battle field is divided into rows A & B you cannot hit someone in the back row unless you have Area Affect line and column even with ranged attacks.(AE) All in all most battles arent difficult and shouldnt take you more then 2x because sometimes they like to bost and AE your entire party. Think FF clone type game here, with Tech Attacks being the say as summons. The things that set this game apart from those is better storyline (sorry FF people the mother gaia earth bitz line been played to death) more developed characters (hey lets not base things off previous games, what a concept tho i think that will be destined to be blown with the next 2) and the ability to return to zones you have already visited through special portals placed randomly near save points, Boosting, and indepth video sequences, and the fact your game will continue with the same characters in sequal Xeno II. The problem seems that its not divided well into chapters and suddenly ends hell they coulda at least left you wondering if Character Y was even gonna be in the next one (Ys identity withheld for those of you who havent played this game) MMJ says, "That 12 year old girls dress that short isnt very modest but wholesum family fun for most ages" MAJ says, "Lesbian tensions seem to be coming out, and there are some messed up assholes who come into play which is good, lack of nudity which is bad" MSBNGJ says 'The game has scenes of extreme violence towards robot/cyborgs but at least the main ubah chick is a chick showing chicks can give those fruity FF guys a run for their aging money' RJ says 'WTF this game is easier then a grandma after shes had her pills and watched her stories, wheres degree of fuckin difficulty' Story 4 Graphics 2 gameplay 3 sound 3 Fun 4 overall 3 Synopsis if you like RPGs like FF8+, low difficulty and anime cuts (up to 30s minutes) youll like this game if your NOT a fan of RPGs dont bother |
