Education

The union executive committee focused on the labor culture and their consciousness of the labor rights preserved by laws. Since 1998, Brothers in Japan and USA cooperated with us to conduct 22 educational workshops for (600) six hundred workers in TGC industries.

In the last year 2002, 4 workshops were conducted and 100 participants of workers. As for this year 3 workshops were held up to July. 70 workers have benefited from them. By the end of this year two more workshops are planned to take place for around 50 workers or more.

Main subjects of those workshops were :

1- The incorporation of the working woman
2- The Collective Bargaining
3- Training of Organizers and Union Leaders
4- Vocational Health and Safety
5- Strategic Planning for the Unions’ Work
6- Work Law and Social Security System
7- Industrial Relations between Workers and Employers
8- Working Woman Rights
9- Training of Working Woman to organize woman and form committees at work sites
10- Management of Labor disputes

On the other hand, the union continued to release its publication trying to increase the number of issues and develop them to meet the workers’ ambitions and express their opinions. This publication played a vital role in expanding the membership and updating the workers with the latest laws and regulations and also with the main local and international events.

The trade union also plays a vital role to cover the workers' news, problems, and talking about the laws and regulations that are related to them through TV and Radio channels as well as the news papers and now through the internet.

We hope this new window will enhance the relationship between us and the world workers' movements wherever they are to achieve the solidarity we dream about; not only in the Arab world but also in Asia and the other continents. We believe that worker belongs to worker, wherever they are.
