Things Will Never Be the Same Again

I was content with my daily routine,
I was satisfied with the norm;
Then you burst into this peaceful scene
Like a sudden summer storm.

Things will never be the same again,
Things will never be the way they were.
The world that I knew has changed,
It's all been rearranged,
And the past has begun to blur.
I lived in my own little tower,
I lived behind my own little wall---
Now what had once seemed important
Isn't important at all.
Things will never be the same again,
There's no return and no retreat--
I'm still reeling from the shock---
The earth which seemed like rock
Is crumbling beneath my feet.
Whatever was has gone up in flame,
And things will never ever be the same.
