" We were ambushed. The King will tell you >what he thinks you need to know when he's ready. I must rest now. Its good to see you."
Tey walks off in the direction the king just went.
Sean turns to ROCKHOND, "Now that they are here I feel much better.

"Yes sir, ROCKHEAD THE MAGNIFICENT!"
SEAN grabs his sword, & >cloak , jumps on his horse and dissapears

Running through the forest, feeling like she was being chased, Cyn kept
looking over her shoulder. She knew something was back there, but
she couldn't see who or
what it was. She just had this overwhelming feeling that someone
was watching her. She stumbled over a tree branch that had fallen,
and she cried out softly as she
struggled to regain her balance without falling. When she was
sure she hadn't fallen, she continued, feeling like someone was just right
over her shoulder. She found
herself surrounded by trees, and shadows, and in the looming darkness,
she found herself wondering what was shadow, and what was real.
She slowed down,
listening, her head turning in all directions, her dark eyes darting
from tree to tree. She couldn't hear anything out there, but she
was aware she wasn't alone. She
backed herself up against a tree, and choked back a sob as she looked
to the heavens. "In this night and in this hour, I call upon the
Ancient power, oh, goddess
Bast, and consort Anubis, I ask thee now to bring your protection
over me. Show me the way to my destination! Stand by me in
this darkness, show me the way!"
She sees a hawk flying overhead. Somewhere in the dark recesses
of her mind, she recalls a teaching. 'Hawks mean truth, awareness,
my child..' She looks down
at the ground some yards in front of her. A wolf stands alone.
She freezes, watching the wolf. She doesn't know where to look, what
to do...She shivers from fear
as the wolf silently lumbers towards her...
Cyn wakes up in a cold sweat. The room is silent, but she's aware
that someone has entered the shop. She pulls herself together, and
goes to see who requires her
services. It is the gentleman to whom she had given the medallion
to. She knew he'd be returning. "Good day!"
"Madam Cyn, I need some help. I've been having some strange dreams..."
"Don't worry, sir. The dreams never last long."
He looks at her, a curious expression on his face as she mentally shudders, thinking of the dream she had just woken from.
"Shall we sit, and see what the cards have to say?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Shall we sit down and see what the cards have to say?" Madam
Cyn led him to a small round table where a stack of cards lay, the smoke
from a nearby incense
cone fanning over the cards. She smiled at him as he sat down.
"It does seem rather cliche, doesn't it?"
He couldn't help but crack a smile as he looked over the table. The
table was simple, undecorated, but the items on the table drew his attention.
The cards were well
worn from use. The incense smelled like rain. He inhaled
deeply, realizing that rain, a good steady rain, was in fact calming, and
it was no wonder she had chosen
that particular incense. Next to the incense was a teapot, and two
cups. He looked at her, raising an eyebrow.
"Would you like some tea? Chamomile can be quite soothing!"
"No thanks..."
She looked at him, silently, as she picked up the cards.
"You are very bothered, aren't you? You mentioned dreams...dreams
are often our mind's way of helping
us to sort out the day to day stuff, to sort out the
confusion..." Finally, she looked at the cards she was shuffling.
She looked back at him, handing him the cards.
"Please, shuffle them as many times as you need to."
As he shuffled the cards, he thought of all he'd been through in the past few days, all he had seen. She watched him silently, not rushing him.
After a little while, he handed her the cards. She dealt out fourteen
cards in a V shape, seven locations, two cards on each spot. She
turned over the first two cards.
"These two cards represent what's known of the Past."
The first card she turned over was the Death card, a very ominous looking
card with a skeleton in knight's armour sitting on a white horse, fallen
people around him.
She looked at him, then back at the cards as she turned the second
card. The Hermit, a lone cloaked figure standing with a lantern and
a staff. "Well, first of all, you
should know the Death card is not as ominous as it looks. This
card represents a major change. You have been through a major change,
and you must realize that
yes, a part of you did die, but there's another part of you that was
born, which will live. It was a new beginning! But for some
reason, you feel the need to hide, to
disguise, as the Hermit is showing us."
"The next two cards represent the Unknown side of the Past." She
turned over the Magician card, and the Five of Cups. The Magician
card showed a robed figure
standing by a table, a chalice, a medallion of a pentacle, a
sword, and a staff all laying on the table. The figure, a man, was
pointing both to the heavens and to the
ground. "This card shows that you have the tools. You have
what it takes to come to your full potential.
The Five of Cups shows you have alliances. While the picture just
looks like a cloaked figure turning away, and come cups falling around
him, there are still two cups
standing. Those two represent alliances. They are behind
you, at your back, even if you don't realize it."
He sat back, thinking, trying to figure out who she meant. She watched him for a moment before looking down at the next cards she turned.
"These represent the Present, what is here? First, you have the
6 of Wands. The card shows a man on a horse, looking away, holding
a staff. There are those
around him, also holding staffs, but not really looking this way either.
This card stand for treachery, disloyalty...You may feel this is you, or
it may be someone in
your camp?"
She looked at the next card, the 8 of Wands. "You
need to control your emotions. Don't force the issue.
Everything will come to pass. The eight wands falling from the
sky will land, and will fall where they may, you can't force things to
land in a particular place."
"These next two represent what will come of the Present. First
you have the King of Cups. He's a man of power, of business,
of law. But this card, the Five of
Swords...it shows a man holding two swords in one hand, another in
the other hand, and two on the ground beside him. There are two people
walking away from
him. Someone is not what he seems. This is a card of loss,
dishonour. It can come in many forms, but it will be soon because
this is the Present."
"This is your present plan of the Future. The 6 of Swords shows
a man on a boat, rowing away from you. You have calm waters on one
side of the boat, churning
waters on the other. You will be on a journey. The 9 of
Wands, while showing a man standing alone, holding a staff, other staffs
standing behind him, stand for
strength in opposition. You will meet the challenges boldly.
This may be the time when those alliances I mentioned earlier stand by
you."
"This will be the unexpected of the Future..." She turned over
the 4 of Swords, and the Page of Swords. She sat quietly
for a few minutes, looking over the cards,
then looking at him. Her eyes had gotten darker, and there was
a strong sadness to them, he couldn't help but feel it. "What is
it," he asked, leaning forward in his
chair. "What's wrong?"
"The 4 of Swords shows a man laying in what looks like a tomb.
You will feel the need to retreat, to have solitude. But the place
you will go...the Page of Swords
harbors unforeseen evil. The man in the picture is wielding a
sword. He looks like he's ready to take on the world. It will
be that he is the last person you expect,
the last thing you expect evil to come from. It may be that your
resting place, your place of solitude, of retreat, is harboring someone
with ill will, someone who is not
what he seems." She looked at him, obviously distressed. "I have
something for you...but first..."
She turned the next two cards. "These represent the Surprising
Possibilities. You have the Queen of Swords. She is a strong
woman, she has been through a lot,
seen a lot. She knows how to deal with some of the toughest hardships.
She will know how to help you. Then, you have the Strength card,
showing a man with a
lion. You have the Strength, believe it or not, to endure.
You have so much strength and courage in you, that you will endure it all.
I am very glad these cards
showed up for you. They show me that you will prevail!"
She stood up and went to a small apothecary's chest, with nine small drawers
in it. She opened several
drawers, pulled out several items, and came back to the table.
She laid out her items on the table. "Do you have a pouch that you
keep close to you? If you don't, I
have one."
"Yes, I have one," he replied, showing her the pouch on his belt.
"I wear this always."
"Good. Put these in there, and don't let them be taken from you.
I give you this stone of amber for balance and protection. This tea
leaf, and this sweetpea, are for
courage and strength. You will have these to remind you
that you do have the strength and the courage to endure! That wolf
medallion I gave you before, keep it
with these item! It had the hawk on the other side. The
hawk if for awareness, and truth. The wolf is for loyalty, interdependence.
Hawks and wolves mate for life,
do you know?"
He placed these items inside his pouch and stood up, still thinking
over everything she has said. She pulls him into a hug. "Go,
my child, and be aware of all around
you."
