Welcome to the Dragon's Lair!
You are listening to the midi version of "Finale" from the Dragonheart soundtrack, composed by Randy Edelman.

"Flight of dragons soar in the purple light
In the sky, or in my mind
Flight of dragons sail past reality
Leave illusion behind..."

{from "Flight of Dragons" by Don McLean}

General Information

Dragons are known worldwide, and are one of the most famous mystical beings to ever have existed. From China to the United States, there's hardly a single child who hasn't heard of a dragon. As such, it is easy to understand that there are innumerable amounts of different kinds of dragons, and it would be impossible to cover them all. There are Luck Dragons (like Falco from Neverending Story), Chinese Dragons, Water Dragons (aka Sea Serpents), Fairy Dragons - nearly any kind of dragon you can imagine. However, nearly all dragons are very close in appearance to the Common Dragon.
The Common Dragon has a body which is somewhat of a mix between a lizard, a dinosaur, and a snake, that is usually covered with scales (though some have been known to have regular skin or feathers) and is usually very strong and muscular, yet graceful and sleek. They can have either a single pair of back legs, or they can have four legs (two in the front, two in the back), and some have been known to have horns on the tops of their heads. All dragons have claws on their feet (though they can have nearly any number of toes), and wings. However, not all dragons can fly; some use their wings to swim, others have them only as decoration. Their ears may be internal or external, or even nonexistent (as with snakes). Their teeth are usually very large and sharp, and they can have up to three or four rows of them. Some even have poisonous fangs.
The Common Dragon can breathe fire, but other dragons (especially Elemental Dragons) can use their breath to freeze, poison, blow away, and multiple other things. The color of fire the dragon breathes depends on the dragon and can be any color, as well as the color of the dragon itself. While most dragons are very massive and can be as tall as, or even taller than, the Sears Tower, they can be almost any size. Nearly all dragons hatch from eggs and are cold-blooded (their blood can also be almost any color but is usually red or blue), and all dragons can communicate with each other. Like unicorns, dragons may also communicate to humans and other creatures by spoken word or by mental images. Some, however, cannot communicate with anything except each other.
Though the Common Dragon possesses only the ability to breathe fire (and perhaps communicate with everything), many dragons also have magic which can be used through spells, telekenesis, or through giving a human instructions to create a magical potion. Their fire (or whatever it is they breathe) may also be magical, and can heal or hurt whomever it is breathed upon. The common dragon is usually non-agressive and quite calm and collected, but a dragon's nature can be as complex or simple as a human's, and there are some (most prominently the ones who cannot communicate with other animals) who are aggressive towards everyone and everything, and have a love for bloodshed and destruction. On the flipside, there are many dragons who are very peaceful and believe in tranquility, love, good, and healing. A dragon can live anywhere it wants to.

I have met many dragons, including Gorbash, Draco, Firedrake, Eragon, Falco, Heart's Blood, Ramoth, Puff, and numerous others. Have you met any dragonfriends lately?

Personality Quiz

Take the quiz: "What is your Inner Dragon (neat pictures)"

Blue Dragon
If there ever was a draconic example of a supple attitude, your Inner Dragon is it. Blues are the Water Elemental dragon - typified by their Steam breath weapon. Pretty creative, huh? It goes right along with your Inner Dragon's tendency to maim, but not destroy.Humans shouldn't make the idiot mistake of thinking you're weak, however.The element of surprise and limited magic capabilities are definitely yours. You also enjoy communicating with aquatic life-forms.Your favorable attributes are the sunset, Autumn, water, compassion, peace, forgiveness, love, intuition, and calmness.
