I have learned quite a bit from these men and few and far between some women�First and foremost this is just a �game� you say�not to these guys, no way, this is serious. This is Fantasy Football and nothing else matters this time of the year. I have learned that most of the guys use the Fantasy Football Index as a bible plus a few web sites� They put in rosters and are very tough about the rules. And god forbid a mistake is made in transferring information as they are on me like flies on you know what. They keep stats upon stats�..They memorize everything and I mean everything from their own roster, lineups etc. to every other person in the league and their roster, lineups, etc.
So why can�t they remember what their wife says to them five minutes ago�well that�s another story for another time.
I am responsible for documenting all the pertinent information:
*Keeping track of all rosters, lineups, etc.
*Overseeing all trades, free agents, etc.
*Taking care of the scores each week and sending out the results. And they better be right or else... it's an email barrage in my In-Bin!
I have learned a lot about football from these guys sometimes more than I would like but it is a wonderful look into the male psyche. They are amazing creatures who transform into major competitors who will give up there first born for a chance at getting Marshall Faulk as their RB.
Another part of the draft that I am not involved with but hear a lot about is the food�yes the food. They crave, lust, and need lots of food on draft day�.Comfort food�.helps them with their strategies. Each year they set up a place for the �Draft��now this cannot be held just any place mind you it has to be functional on a number of levels�Room for tables so all owners may spread out all their paperwork in a comfortable manner�either a wife or significant other who is a great cook or near a place(s) where good food can be ordered at any time and fast!
Well, that�s my story. And I am sticking to it.
