| 1. Which FF magazine(s) and/or website(s) do you primarily use as a reference for your Draft & upcoming season and why? Fantasy Football Index and Pro Football Weekly Fantasy Football Preview. They seem to be the two best...the Index in particular is good because the scoring system mirrors our own league pretty closely. Its also not afraid to swim against the popular tide of FFL opinion. PigskinAddiction.com is the best, most down-to-earth website in my opinion. 2. What is your strategy come Draft Day? Do you look for a certain position, i.e. RB's? Do you shy away from certain Teams? Which ones? Is one position deeper this year than another (position)? No real strategy beyond "best player available." I do tend to avoid quarterbacks until after several rounds have passed, unless Im drafting with a top 3 pick. I also believe that when it comes to two closely ranked running backs, its best to go with the one on the better team, record-wise. 3. Who is the most overrated Quarterback this year and why? Michael Vick. Im seeing a lot of hype about him because hes such a good runner but, in my league, unless hes gotten a lot better in the off-season at throwing the ball, he looks like a talented, athletic plug. 4. Who is the most overrated Running Back this year and why? Jerome Bettis or Warrick Dunn. Bettis usually breaks down by Week 9, and hasnt really ever been a big TD producer. And Dunn wont get goal-line carries, and has to contend with Vick and Duckett for rushing TDs. 5. Who is the most overrated Wide Receiver this year and why? Its a tie between Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce for me. I dont quite get how a running back can catch more touchdown passes than these two super-fast guys...and I dont see the chemistry changing all that much for one of them to hit double digit TDs, which is where they both should be when their QB chucks 35+ TDs each year. 6. Pass along one (can't share 'em all!) Sleeper pick this year and why? Mikhael Ricks. I think the Lions threw the ball, like, more than all but two teams last year because they fell behind early and often. Ricks is a lean, fast, Marcus Pollard-type tight end, not a plodder. If David Sloan could catch 6 or 7 TDs there last year, Ricks could do even better. 7. In which Round do you start thinking about a Kicker or Defense? Or do you let the others dictate that, when there's a run on one or both of these positions, do you then jump in? I think having a top-3 kicker is worth spending an 11th or 12th round pick on, but I never actually end up doing it. Same with Defenses...I usually join in when the run starts. 8. Who do you think has the possibility of not being drafted at all, yet could be a potential quality Free Agent sometime during the season? Eric Johnson, TE, 49ers. A good, unheralded safety valve for Garcia and Co. 9. Among those who performed well last season, who will fall the farthest in terms of production from last year to this year and why? Brett Favres situation is starting to scare me. He had 32 TDs last year...but Terry Glenn is already dinged and its only mid-August. Plus, the other WRs are all young and defenses will figure out how to stop Bubba Franks at the goal line this year. He could be headed for a 25 TD, 20 INT kind of season. 10. Final Score of the Super Bowl? St. Louis 33, Indianapolis 20. But, boy do I loathe Mike Martz... |
