Question & Answer Poll - 2002 Season
The best website I use is footballguys.com. This is due to the excel spreadsheets they have to forecast players� stats specific to your league. I�m in 3 different leagues and they have 3 different sets of rules. I just change the parameters for each league and it ranks the players according to my league.
2. What is your strategy come Draft Day? Do you look for a certain position, i.e. RB's? Do you shy away from certain Teams? Which ones? Is one position deeper this year than another (position)?
I always look for a Stud RB, but it all depends what�s left when it�s my pick. I always evaluate the players left when it�s my turn to pick. Unfortunately, my leagues do not know the order of the draft until draft night.
I shy away from the Cowboys for 3 reasons; one I am an Eagles� fan; two the only year I did take a Cowboys� player, E. Smith had the worst year of his career; and last but not least I am an Eagles� fan.
Out of the main three positions, I always believe that the WR position is the deepest, followed by QB, and RB.
3. Who is the most overrated Quarterback this year and why?
The most overrated QB in my eyes is Brian Griese. He had one good year when he took over a team that just won 2 Super Bowls. Ever since then he has been plagued with injury and has just been mediocre at best. Stay away from this QB, because he still needs to prove himself.
4. Who is the most overrated Running Back this year and why?
The most overrated RB is Stephen Davis. Everyone still thinks that he�ll return to the form of two years ago. I don�t see that happening, especially with the new pass offense that has been established in Washington.
5. Who is the most overrated Wide Receiver this year and why?
I believe the most overrated Wide Receiver is Jimmy Smith. With losing Keenan McCardell this year, he will have a harder time getting the ball because he will have more double teams.
6. Pass along one (can't share 'em all!) Sleeper pick this year and why?
I think the best sleeper will be the starting QB in Washington. If the Skins are coached anything like Spurrier�s college teams, they will put up big numbers. The question is which one will get the nod, Wuerffel or Matthews?
7. In which Round do you start thinking about a Kicker or Defense? Or do you let the others dictate that, when there's a run on one or both of these positions, do you then jump in?
I usually try to have my core positions filled before I take a defense or kicker. I want to have at least 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR. I won�t start thinking about a K or D until after round 6 or 7.
8. Who do you think has the possibility of not being drafted at all, yet could be a potential quality Free Agent sometime during the season?
Watch out for Steve Beuerlein. If he doesn�t steal the job from Griese before the season starts, he�ll take it some time during the year.
9. Among those who performed well last season, who will fall the farthest in terms of production from last year to this year and why?
I think Rich Gannon will be fall in production. This is mainly due to the fact that the Raiders lost Gruden as the head coach and offensive coordinator.
10. Final Score of the Super Bowl?
Since I�m an Eagles fan at heart, I say the Eagles will beat the Steelers by a score of 23 -17.
