Question & Answer Poll - 2002 Season

1. Which FF magazine(s) and/or website(s) do you primarily use as a reference for your Draft & upcoming season and why?

Like most owners in our league, I refer to the Fantasy Football Index as my resource for pre-draft rankings and mock drafts. The reason I use it is because it gives me the most insight into what the other owners are thinking since they use this magazine (especially the rankings) as their pre-draft bible.

I also take to the internet with FFMastermind. It gives daily updates and does not appear to be influenced by one team or another. Its also very accurate.

2. What is your strategy come Draft Day? Do you look for a certain position, i.e. RB's? Do you shy away from certain Teams? Which ones? Is one position deeper this year than another (position)?

I think each team should be built around a stud running backthere is no secret to that. Im fortunate in my draft position to be able to select Marshall Faulk. A second running back becomes a low priority because of Faulk.

I will be shying away from a few teams this year, the Panthers and Falcons for sure.

This is one year where drafting a QB early may be a necessity. After the top five or six it becomes a real crap shootwith crap being the operative word. There are fortunately a ton of wide receivers to select from.

3. Who is the most overrated Quarterback this year and why?

Aaron Brooks. Simply put, his supporting cast is suspect. Deuce McCallister has to prove he can handle the workload. Joe Horn is a stud, but will be hampered by a rookie starting opposite him. Do they have a tight end on the roster?

4. Who is the most overrated Running Back this year and why?

Edgerrin James. His refusal to play in the preseason will give Dominic Rhodes the opportunity to prove he deserves his share of the load. Shaun Alexander and Ahman Green deserve mention here, too. Can you say one-year wonders?

5. Who is the most overrated Wide Receiver this year and why?

Torry Holtthere is only one football. And, hell be sharing it with a pretty talented group of receivers and backs.

6. Pass along one (can't share 'em all!) Sleeper pick this year and why?

Peerless Price. Drew Bledsoe throws a great deep ball. Eric Moulds deserves to be double-covered. Price has deep speed and has yet to live up to his much hyped Tennessee Potential.

7. In which Round do you start thinking about a Kicker or Defense? Or do you let the others dictate that, when there's a run on one or both of these positions, do you then jump in?

When the value they present is greater than the skill positions. Its another crapshoot here with both of these positions. Id rather select a #6 WR with good potential, than select my starting defense or kicker. A run on kickers and defenses only enhances the chance of picking up talent at the skill positions.

8. Who do you think has the possibility of not being drafted at all, yet could be a potential quality Free Agent sometime during the season?

Patrick Ramsey will start the season on the bench, but could prove beneficial if the Skins fall out of the playoff race early on, with their Fun-N-Gun offense.

9. Among those who performed well last season, who will fall the farthest in terms of production from last year to this year and why?

Rich Gannon. Age of the skill positions and the loss of Gruden will spell bad news for Raider Fans. Also, he could argue with the head coach last year right in front of the television cameraswill Callahan put up with the same? Sooner or later Marques Tuiasosopo needs to take the reins of this team big contract for Gannon or not.
