Meet the Creator

(Yarim Machado)

        Thanks for visiting the official page of Shadow Cat.  The comic that this page presents has been  created by me, Yarim Machado I'm from Isabela Puerto Rico and I'm 18 years old.  Well allow me to tell you how my characters were created.  Shadow Cat was born five years ago in a boring music class at school, I was bored and I started to make quick sketches and I came out with this peculiar character called Droguy.  I was 11 years old for that time.  Then I decided to make a comic of that character cause I wanted to do something different, I always drew cover comics, so I decided creating my own.  By the time Droguy started to change , and I added some new stuff on him and made him a super hero uniform. For this I had my best friends help, Gabriel Villanueva, he made the letters for me, and he always gave me opinions about the comic.

         By the years I kept changing  and changing, repeating the issues many times... I repeated my comic seven times from the first issue to the forth.  For now that's my record.  Thanks to that looooooooong time of work, I modified my character, I started drawing manga (thanks God), the character looked more real.  Then, I eliminated Shadow Cat's uniform and I created the new story that now I'm presenting, I created Union and all that stuff.  For all this I needed a lot of help, from people like my uncle Humberto Hernandez (he showed me how to get organized when IM publishing something), David Alvarez, Edward Santiago and the rest of the Changay crew, I would like to also thank my cousin Jaime Galván, the one that showed me how to create an interesting story. I want to thank them all from the bottom of my heart.  Most of all I want to thank to José Medina (my first art teacher in school), he helped me a lot with my drawings..... rest in peace.

   Yarim Machado was born at Mayagüez, Puerto Rico in 1982, his parents are Héctor Machado Cruz and Hilda Galván Aldarondo.  Yarim now recedes at Santurce Puerto Rico where he studies Plastic Arts at "La Escuela de Artes Plásticas de P.R..  Yarim got  graduated from el Colegio San Antonio de Isabela.  He loves music, rock 50's-80's, blues Jazz, instrumental and some others, he loves to go to the movies and go everywhere with his friends, he plays the guitar, the bass and loves to write, he also paints, sculpts and draw.  After he studies Plastic Arts he's looking forward to study cinematography which is other of his pasions.

    As a comic artist and writer he created three Manga titles for the moment, Shadow Cat which is the first he created, and Illusiona and the adventures of Pucho.  He seems to been born with a pencil in his hand cause he has drawn all his life.  He started drawing cartoon science the age of 4, and then he started to create comics of the Simpsons, Ninja Turtles, X-MEN, Star Wars, all the fever that he got.  Then he decided to create a story of his own, and at the age of 11 he created his first original comic Dark Cat, which later changed to Shadow Cat, he's been writing Shadow Cat for over 6 years and he has expanded a gigantic universe in that story.
