| THE DOCTOR'S LAMENT |
| Oh the Doctor works late in his laboratory Where things are not as they seem For the Doctor wishes nothing more desperately than to escape this time-stream. Singing songs as he tinkers with his TARDIS there Thinks he's breaking new ground. But then the Brig says, "Come, I've got a job for you-- See the monsters I've found!" Oh, the Doctor solves mysteries and battles foes It's a hobby of his. Got him stuck on Earth, his memory mixed-up, doing the UNIT's biz. And so, it's off to work he goes In the name of freedom--if not his OWN! This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three Nice place to visit, but Earth's a BORING place to be! This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three Why these aliens all want it is beyond the ken of me! Not so bad on duty for the Brigadier (Good fellow, if a fool) All his vehicles are so much fun for racing in-- Why can't I have some too? But just when I get matters firmly in my hand (Never doubted I would!) The Brigadier says, "Nonsense! Blow the lot to bits!" That does a lot of good. I say! Xenophobia saves the day! I love this world--but some of the PEOPLE.... This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three Nice place to visit, but Earth's a place of idiocy! This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three How these humans survived this long is beyond the ken of me! Oh-oh! The planet's about to blow! The Master may have won this time! But, hey! That's a minute or a year away To fret won't help--don't miss the beauty around you! This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three! Nice place to visit, but will it be for eternity? This is the story of the unhappy Doctor Three Exiled his body, but his soul's learning to fly free! (repeat) |
