COOLIDGE PARK CAROUSEL
Chattanooga, TN
Coolidge Park Carousel Pavilion
The wonderful pavilion that houses the carousel....
...and a close look at the windvane on the top.
Play fountain at Coolidge Park.
A view of the fun play fountain located beside the pavilion. The statues are animal figures that randomly spray water from their mouths, in addition to the ever-changing jets in the center.
And here are some of  the hand-carved figures themselves!
Each one has a name and a story, which the attendants are happy to tell the riders.
Many are styled after Dentzel figures, but with creative new twists, such as the cat which holds a slipper in its mouth, seen to the left--and there is a neat extra surprise carved into the slipper itself!

Other figures are quite original, such as the fearsome leaping tiger to the right....

Or this cool giant fish, above!
Here is another variation on the Dentzel cat design, which we particularly like.
