Chapter Two

Meanwhile...

In the library, Sadie sat arm against arm with a boy just about a year older than her. His gelled blond hair and piercing green eyes complemented his bad ass attitude to tell people--hey, I'm the boss around here. He kicked his feet up against the desk with a cool smirk whipped on his face, letting Sadie face his black boots as if she weren't good enough to face him. "Seifer, this isn't going to work out," Sadie said to him, thoroughly annoyed. They'd been through this cycle already multiple times in the last few days. Seifer sat up straight and shrugged as if he couldn't care less.

"I knew it all along," Seifer replied. "I guess I was just in for the joy ride. Or just to show my harem of groupies that I might go for some loser too. You know, just to keep them all occupied or whatever the hell you want to call it." Sad as it was, it was true... Seifer did have a pile of girls crazy about him no matter how bad assed he could get; however, there was only one girl on his mind at the time--Rinoa Heartilly--yes, Lina's sister. Why? Not only because she was dating his nemesis Squall Leonhart the "prized Commander of Balamb Garden", but also because things had ended too abruptly for him--it gave him more of a bad reputation.

Things didn't work out for the two of them. Sadie was still looking for Zell's affection--something she could only obtain by force nowadays, but she wasn't so quick to say she wouldn't go there. "Look, I know you're still crazy about Rinoa because of your stupid front. Well, I still want Zell to notice me, but apparently it ain't happening anytime soon. He's too focused on that... Lina Heartilly. What's so good about her anyways?" she said out of pure spite. Sadie even knew herself Lina was a brilliant person with an optimistic personality and a kind and caring heart, and that was just about what she hated of her--that she got to be so flawless when Sadie here had to sit with the anger of losing fairly.

"Holy shit. Shut up!" Seifer snapped at her and Sadie did so immediately. She didn't want to upset Seifer anymore than she had to. Sometimes, he had enough in him to scare the crap out of her.

"So what are we gonna do? We're pathetic sitting here like this," Sadie said after some time. "I wish we could make some kind of, uh, magic charm or something. A love potion like those kinds that you read of in novels and such."

"That could possibly be arranged," Seifer said, but Sadie shook her head kind of pathetically.

"You know that I'm not even a SeeD yet. I can barely cast magic correctly, that's the only reason that I'm here as assistant librarian," Sadie sighed, somewhat ashamed. Just by feeling herself so lowly she gave herself a bad reputation. No one wanted much help from the assistant librarian with the frown on her face everyday. She watched as multiple students walked up and down the rows of books and books, skimming over them. One such student walked up to her--apparently not quite fond of her self inflicted reputation.

"Excuse me, miss? Do you work here? Can you please tell me where to find Nida's Unnotice Life by Nida himself?" he asked. Sadie glared at him as if he had misinterpreted something rather significant. She eyed his brown hair and brown eyes and mocha colored skin and sighed.

"Aren't you Nida?" Sadie questioned. He blushed and nodded slightly--even so, it was disappointing that she had to take so long just to analyze whether or not he was in fact the author looking for his own novel in a school library.

"Um... I was wondering," he said quickly before she turned away again. "I was wondering if anyone had possibly checked it out since the time it'd been put on the shelf. Sadie turned back around and faced him.

"No, Nida. No one has checked it out," she said firmly and rudely. Nida walked away rather sadly, sulking in his way towards the exit. She then turned back around and faced a rather critically judging Seifer with a disapproving frown on his face. "What? No one's checked it out. The guy comes in here twice a day asking the same thing. Anyway, let's just make that kind of potion! A love potion! How exciting!"

Seifer smirked and nodded. If it had any chances of bringing Rinoa any closer to him, then he'd do it. "Alright then, let's consider our options!"
