"Come on, Seifer!" Sadie yelled, pulling on his hand towards the city of Balamb. The sun had fallen and it was a sheer miracle that she didn't trip over the ditches in the ground. Furthermore, they'd taken a direct route, cutting through the small forest and making things worse, traveling-wise. Seifer yelled at her to slow down and jerked himself free of her grasp. They were almost there anyways--the city lights were in a distance, bright, but certainly not obnoxious--it was the gentle beauty of Balamb. Sadie sighed impatiently as Seifer adjusted his waiter costume. "They're probably already getting their beverages!"
"Alright! Alright! I get it," Seifer yelled. "I'm almost done okay, but does this size even fit me!?"
"You are such a WOMAN, now let's GO!" She grabbed his hang and began to drag again. They entered the city of Balamb and walked towards the restaurant Nida's Corner. Quietly they snuck down into the restaurant and crept into the back kitchen where the food was being prepared and the countless waiters and waitresses were filing in and out of in almost perfect beeline formation. The two of them copied the example given and reported to the counter. "Did you see them? I think I saw them as we entered."
"Yo, you better get this over to table five pronto," some man shoved a tray full of cups in her direction.
"Right away, sir!" Sadie replied. As the guy left, Sadie looked down and counted out seven glasses of water. "Perfect!" She pulled out from her pocket a little bottle full of a hot pink liquid. Carefully, she decanted a little bit of the pink concoction into two glasses, watching it fade to clear as it did so. Then, she memorized which ones they were, taking a mental picture of what was going on. "Now watch and learn, Seifer." Sadie looked over the counter and saw them sitting around at a big table. She ruffled up her hair and waltzed right over, her face so covered in make up that no one would be able to recognize her and gently placed a glass of water in front of each person. When she reached Rinoa's side, she set down the glass she'd memorized to have contained the pink substance. As she approached Zell's side, she did the same.
"Enjoy!" she said falsely with a voice so high it didn't seem to match the figure it was coming from. Seifer clapped mildly when Sadie returned. Sadie bowed sarcastically and together they snuck out through the back of the room. They took off their aprons and watched from a distance as they all took a few swigs from their cups and set them back down on the table. "Why isn't anything happening?"
"Maybe we didn't add enough ingredients or something," Seifer shrugged. "Oh well... Let's get back before they spot us here." They left, disappointed and a little frustrated--so much time into preparing that concoction and still nothing came out of it.
After the group finished eating, they returned back to Garden. Zell and Lina said goodnight and went to their separate rooms.
