Lina woke up distressed. Besides that one moment of nightmare, she'd gotten no sleep at all. When she swung open her door, she smacked it right into Zell's arm and knocked him over. "Zell! I'm so sorry!" Lina cried, helping him to his feet. "I-I didn't see you there, are you alright?"
"I'm fine, don't worry, what's up? Where you in such a big hurry to?" he asked, rubbing the side of his arm.
"I just uh... I have to do some research. I'll be in the classroom if you need me," she said, then ran off. Zell nodded as she left and smiled--it was beginning. And damn straight--it was about time.
Lina rushed down the hall and up the elevator to her classroom and logged onto her computer. She checked all internet sources on "Gorld" and "Sorceress Gorld". She was looking for something, but she didn't quite know what it was yet. After half an hour, she realized her computer settings had been tampered with. Her results were all filtered and obviously, as she sifted through the information, pieces too heavy were being left behind. She changed her settings to free search and started over again.
"Give me the damn answers," she muttered, pounding her fist onto the table. Almost miraculously, the first piece of information that appeared on her search engine was a match. She clicked it, finding herself on a website with a black background with words all in bright red as to contrast. She skimmed over the words and paragraphs and scrolled down. It was useless, so much information, but so little to do with what she was looking for. She ran a search through the page for her name and bingo.
There it was: a picture, seemingly innocent, but of a lady who had Lina's face, but was not her. She decided to carefully scan this website later and so, she printed everything out, all 21 pages worth of information on what happened with this "Lina Heartilly" and "Sorceress Gorld". The bell rang and the students began to file in unknowingly.
"Get out! No class today!" she yelled and the students, frightened, obeyed. Except Zell.
"What's that you got there?" Zell asked rather playfully, looking over her shoulder. "Oh wow." He sighed. "So you found my website?" Lina looked up at him like he was crazy.
"Your website?" Lina asked. "So it's true then. What I thought was true. You do know more about me than I may know about myself. You know that I have amnesia don't you?" Zell nodded. "What else is there? What about my past can you tell me?" She thought it was ridiculous--she was asking for someone else to tell her about what kind of person she was. Zell didn't respond, just took her hand in his and gave her a little shrug. "I don't get it... this girl... in this picture... she looks like me...! How is that possible? I-I've never even seen Gorld before! It's just too weird!"
"Are you taking this okay, Lina?" Zell asked. Lina snatched the papers from the printer and stood up.
"Um... no. Actually, I'm not. I need to see Rinoa," Lina said and headed out the door.
Zell sighed with relief when she'd gone. "It's about time," he muttered to himself. He would willingly spill his memories and secrets to Lina anytime, but Rinoa had given him strict orders not to. Now, the blame was all on her.
Lina had no patience with greetings and so, when she reached Squall's room, she kicked open the door, forgetting to care whether or not she'd left a dent in it. She found Rinoa, sitting at his desk over a few sheets of paper in hard concentration. When Rinoa looked up Lina approached.
"What's this!?" Lina asked angrily, holding out in front of her the papers she'd printed off the internet. Rinoa looked up at the pictures Lina held in her hand. "Zell says it's his website." Rinoa closed her eyes and sighed deeply.
"Well I can't keep it from you forever I guess. I might as well tell you now. Pull up a chair," Rinoa said.
