When Lina finally regained feeling in her limbs, she shuffled a little bit, opened her eyes, and found herself reclined against a rather stiff bed that was not her own. She blinked a bit, and with an effort lifted herself up from her seat. Her head was throbbing, the blood pulsing through, and her senses unusually strong. She could smell the green tea brewing in the next room, feel every little stitch in the silky blankets sink into her palm, and hear the shallow breaths of someone else in the room. The only bit of her that had not cleared up a little bit was her sight--images were still blurry, with difficulty to focus.
"Have a nice little nap there, Lina?" said an innocent sounding voice. Lina held a hand to her forehead as the voice echoed five times louder in her head. With an effort, Lina looked around and found the slightly blurry figure of a blonde with a smug smile sitting just next to her bed.
"Yui? Is that you? What...where am I?" Lina asked as she struggled to set her feet onto the cold tile floors without shivering too violently.
"You're in my bedroom. Just stay there. There is no real need for you go wander around at this time," Yui said. Lina looked up blankly at her, then instinctively dropped her head as a gesture of common courtesy. However, she was shocked to find herself dressed in traditional Chinese attire: two or three layers of the finest silk wrapping themselves in neatly against her frame. "Do you like the robes? I figured you might want to look good for the sacrifice."
"What?" Lina asked, looking up again--this time completely shocked. Yui just kind of chuckled as she leaned in closer to Lina. "No, what did you say about a sacrifice? What are you sacrificing and for what occasion?"
"Lina, Lina, Lina..." Yui smirked, tracing her fingertips down Lina's cheek then patting her shoulder with a swelling pride. "Seiyru needs the pure blood of a lady of two worlds. You're the perfect model for such a title." Lina backed away immediately, then struggled to stand and rush towards the exit. "No, no, no. Just go back to sleep." Yui said as she pulled Lina back, set a palm against the back of Lina's head and pressed down hard. Somehow immediately, Lina lost consciousness and dropped back on the bed in an unnatural slumber.
"How is she?" Nakago asked as he slipped out from the shadows of the room. Yui motioned for him to come closer.
"She's just lovely. Now prepare her for the ceremony, Nakago," Yui commanded. "I should think it would take place tonight." Nakago nodded, lifting Lina up and slinging her over his shoulder out the door.
