Quickly following the dance, the friendship between Ron and Liz began to unfold as they'd now speak to each other everyday and have the same types of enlightened conversations as they had had the night of the dance. Ron's little faux pas that night was behind them now as they continued to chat and to get to know each other better. Half of the month had gone by so quickly, but Ron's presence had made it all worthwhile in Liz's eyes. Otherwise, she thought she may have considered returning back by sheer boredom.
Amber and Jen had proved to be monotonous and repetitive. Everyday, it was hot boy over there! Hot boy over here! What did Ron say to you today? Oh, em, gee, he is so hot! Liz would nod and smile through all of their banter, but in her head it was just exactly that: mindless banter, and enough was just about enough. Ron could see through their little act and asked Liz instead if she would eat lunch over with him instead of with the others.
Liz had declined at first, seeing that it may be impolite to her friends, but when she brought it up with them, they screamed in delight. "Go! Go! Go!" they cheered her on as if it were such a big deal to have lunch with the infamous Ronny Calor.
As fun as all of this hubbub was, it was almost time for Liz to return to Garden and to Zell. She was excited of course, but a part of her was a little sad about leaving this all behind. Particularly Ron--she knew he didn't belong here, with such a stunning and pure personality, she couldn't understand why he put up with the shallow minds here anyway. Still, there was nothing she could possibly say to make him understand where she'd come from and what she was going back to at the end of the month.
However, her plans were slightly foiled one day as there was a school assembly in the gymnasium. Everyone gathered, ready to be dazzled by the star performers of the school, and pressed themselves closer to the stage to get a better seat. Just as everyone was beginning to settle down, a portion of the wall was blasted from its place and fire immediately sprung onto the floor. A lady with a somewhat presentable appearance: disheveled brown hair, a twisted body structure, and beady little gray eyes that stalked all movement in every direction.
"I come for the one named Lina Heartilly!" she yelled. Liz's eyes widened in absolute horror--how had? When did? The lady called for Liz was none other than Sorceress Gorld--the exact sorceress who had possessed Liz back in Lunatic Pandora, and had ultimately caused her dreadful amnesia. That was the exact sorceress who had kept her a prisoner to herself through cold torment. Her ears suddenly stopped working--or so she felt, for all she could hear was the beating of her heart in her ears, urging her to run. Liz looked around--so many people had run in confusion, in fear. Some had strayed to allegedly safe distances to observe. Who was Lina Heartilly anyway?
Run! Run! Her heartbeat told her, and finally, she obeyed. She ignored Jen and Amber glaring around in fear, and fled from her seat. Where to!? Outside, less damage. The battle was inevitable. She ran as quickly as she could, but behind her she heard "There you are! Do not try to run! Do not try to hide! You cannot deny who you are, Lina!"
Liz turned around immediately and caught against crossed and glowing arms a jolt of energy Gold threw against her. Liz pulled her arms out and threw it right back at her. Gorld dodged and the stray blast hit the scoreboard in the left corner. Sparks flew and the threat of fire frightened the students into fleeing again.
Out of the blue, Gorld sped in and attacked Liz so that she was flung onto the back wall. Liz hit her elbow hard against the back panel, but regained her composure and stood up straight. Soon, like a white fire, her outline began to shine a brilliant light. The two sorceresses engaged in a heated battle until finally, Liz grabbed Gorld by the neck and tossed her into the distance. Then she stretched her arms out like it was no big deal and turned around to see the majority of the student body glaring in her direction as if she were some kind of... monster.
In the mess she could see Ron's clear blue eyes, apparently unafraid, but more or less shocked by what had just happened.
"ARREST HER!" she heard and spun around, as the cops pulled into the driveway of the school, busted out of their cars and grabbed onto her arms all at once in a messy tangle.
"Let me go! Agh!" Liz screamed, trying to maintain her composure as they pulled her towards the police car. Ron pushed to the front of the crowd as everyone began to move all at once, stirring like a giant soup of mush. "Ron!"
"Liz! Hang in there, I'll get help for you!" he called before the administrators pulled him in the opposite direction. The policemen threw Liz roughly into the back of the police car and then drove in the direction of the mental correction facility somewhere in a different county. Great, they all thought she was some sort of nutcase. Didn't they know that she'd just saved all their asses from Gorld inevitable domination.
When they arrived, they pulled her out just as roughly as they'd shut her in and dragged her into the pearly white hallway--yes, just like those movies. "What the hell are you, girl?" the policeman asked as he led the still struggling Liz down the hallways and into a certain cell.
"I'm just a normal human! Just like you! Let me out!" she screamed, trying to reason. "Why are humans afraid of something they can't understand!? Why can't you accept that I'm just as human as anyone in this facility!" The policemen hurried down to the room down the corridor while two guards took their places in front of her cell. Liz sat down in the corner of her little cell and sighed deeply. "If only I could reach Zelll..." she murmured to herself.
