Had it been days? Weeks? Months? Liz didn't know anymore. She'd spend the majority of her day unconscious in the corner of her room. When food was offered to her, which it scarcely was, she would ignore it and look out towards the only window at the sky. Liz knew Zell would be worried since she hadn't called him, and she felt so pained knowing she couldn't reach him, but it was the thought of him that kept her clinging on.
One day, as Liz was conscious, just before the usual feeding time, she thought about what had happened that day. What instinct in her had told her to run? Human instinct, right? When someone challenges another, the initial animal instinct is to flee, to save your ass. Although something else had made Liz stay, and fight, like she very well should have.
Do not try to hide! You cannot deny who you are, Lina! Gorld had said to her. Liz thought about it for a minute, letting the words juggle themselves back and forth around her train of thought. She's right. Liz thought. But am I Liz? Or am I Lina? Liz took around at the walls surrounding her. I don't know what the hell I'm doing here. Have I really let my old instincts get to me so quickly? I'm a sorceress. My name is Lina Heartilly and I can blow these damn walls right out of their place.
"I don't belong here," she suddenly muttered in revelation. With an effort, she stood on her feet and faced the door. "Why the hell am I doing this to myself!?" Just as she finished her question, a worker opened her door with the stale piece of bread in his hand. He saw her glaring in his general direction, her outline beginning to glow a blazing white.
"W-w-what are you doing, girl!?" he yelled at her frightened. He dropped the piece of bread to the dirty floor as he crouched down in fear.
"My name is Lina Heartilly and the likes of you can't keep me confined!" she shouted back at him and in her furry brought her powers to the maximum. Immediately, white light began to move, to swarm in a visible storm around her and she lifted into the air from the intensity. The man was shaking from head to toe. He hadn't done anything! It was just his job to hand her the food, not his idea! He looked down the hallway to the right--no he couldn't make it if she chased him.
"S-stay back!" he gulped, making a run for the closest emergency situation button on the wall. "You...demon!"
Others in the hallway heard the sirens go off, but could only watch as the bright light from a certain cell down the hall grew and a huge explosion succeeded. Everything flew everywhere all at once, chairs to the ceiling, tables to the wall and a white light of Lina's fury everywhere. Lina stepped out of the mess and headed down the hall with a white outline rather casually. She'd find that portal she stumbled through to begin with. She'd find it if it killed her.
Lina suddenly felt something hit her arm. She looked--a dart--but not just any old dart. She'd been hit by a tranquilizer. Suddenly, she felt her entire body get as heavy as it could even with the lack of sustenance and she toppled down, losing consciousness again. The guards poured in to the halls with their arms in their hands. They'd get her back for the damage she'd done.
The lot of them grabbed her by the arms and tossed her into a separate cell--one that was less comfortable and with a special little barrier around it that a scientist had created especially for her arrival. She could no longer escape, no longer fight, no longer use her powers under this force field.
"You better start writing up that contract," a guard said to the manager, and he just smirked a smug little smirk and walked away.
