ROBERT MATTSON WOOD
Born to Sherman and Lydia Wood on October 5th,1932,he joined the Army when he was 17 years old,he was discharged and later re-joined at an older age.He proudly served his country during the Korean War.While in the Army he was told he would never have children, however by the grace of God he was blessed with 13 children. He was married three times, and shared 9 kids with his second wife Connie.Although sadly his son Stephan died the day he was born.Another son Walt was tragically cut down because of a car wreck.Eventually he divorced Connie and met Phyllis Bennett who became his life long partner. They shared 4 kids together;Venora,Tina,me,andVickie...she died way to young. But everyone who knew my Dad could see that nothing could stop him.He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, and was a member of the Carpanter's Union. We also had our own business together. One year when I was young my Dad and I were hunting and we made a deal that if I shot a deer in the first 15 minutes we were out there I could have his gun.I won and my Dad was very proud.Throughout my childhood he would take me to hell's angels' clubhouses. He is the one who gave me the love for motorcycles and the feeling of freedom that comes with them.My Dad was a strong and fierce man;he was a strong force to be reckoned with and he loved his family very, very, very much.He was my best friend. However our relationship turned sour because of lies that certain family members told.Although, thankfully we made our peace before my Dad was called Home on April 9th,2006,by our Father in Heaven, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. And I can honestly say that my Dad;my best friend still lives on in my memories that I hold close to my heart.
