The dark Aeons can be fought once you acquire the airship. They are extremely strong and wont be beaten that easily. You can destroy them by either with brute strength or use Yojimbos Zanmato on it. The dark aeons are found at:
1. Valefor- when entering Besaid you will be attacked by it.
2. Ifrit- he will be waiting at the entrance of Home on Bikanel Island.
3. Ixion- In the Thunder Plains will be a man standing at a tower. When you talk to him you will be attacked. Once you kill Ixion you then have to find and kill it again.
4. Shiva- she will be waiting at the entrance to Macalania Temple.
5. Bahamut- will be found just before the chamber of the fayth in the Zanarkand temple
6. Yojimbo- in the cavern of the stolen fayth in the Calm lands.
7. Anima- Will be waiting at the entrance of Mt Gagazet after you go in and hit the target with Wakkas blitzball like you did through out the game.
8.The Magus Sisters- will be near the entrance of the Mushroom Rock road, you need to talk to the people chasing you to fight them.
