In order for the ultimate weapons to be the ultimate weapons, you need to find the crest and sigil for each weapon. The crests are found at:
Sun Crest- Receive it when you revisit Zanarkand temple after you defeat Dark Bahamut.
Moon Crest- At Besaid Beach were Sin dropped you off, follow the beach along the edges in the water to find a chest containing it.
Jupiter Crest- Win it by playing in the blitzball tournaments.
Mercury Crest- Found on Bikanel Island towards the entrance to Home on the left hand side of the map.
Venus Crest- Dodge 200 lightning bolts in the Thunder Plains. You will need the ability encounter none.
Mars Crest- Found at the end of the old road, which is near the Miihen Highroad.
Saturn Crest- Found at Mount Gagazet. After you defeat Seymour (again?!) continue following the path and there will be pillars on both sides. In between these pillars is a chest containing the Crest.
The sigils are found at:
Sun Sigil- Race the chocobo trainer and beat her getting a time less than 0:00:00 and you will get the Sigil as a reward. You need to collect a lot of balloons and not get hit by any birds in order to do this.
Moon Sigil- Get every Aeon, and fight them all at Remiem Temple against Belgemine. Then send her to the Farplane to receive the Sigil.
Jupiter Sigil- In the Besaid Aurochs change rooms, look in the lockers on the right as soon as you enter to find the Sigil.
Mercury Sigil- On Bikanel Island you will find a cactuar stone. Find the ten Cactuars and bring their orb back to open up a new area in Bikanel. In that new area will be a chest containing the Sigil.
Venus Sigil- Fly back to Guadosalam in the airship and go to the Farplane. There will be a chest there containing the Sigil.
Mars Sigil- In the calm lands you will find a Battle Arena. Capture monsters from many areas and get the rewards. You will eventually get the Sigil for capturing all the monsters in a certain area.
Saturn Sigil- In Macalania Woods there are butterfly minigames where you have to capture all the blue butterflies in a certain amount of time without touching the red butterflies. Win all of these through out the Woods to get the Sigil as a reward.
