| The Rules are simple. Here they are: 1) All fights are to the death. Every character is allowed any weapons they would normally have, but vehicles (other than those in the arena) are not. Mounts are not considered vehicles, therefore, Ghengis Khan and the Mongol Horde can have thier horses, but Capt. Kirk and the Star Trek Captains cannot have the Enterprise (in any of it's varations) or other starships. However either could potentially drive a car if there was one around (City?). 2) Each arena is cleared of innocent bystanders. Various inner workings of some arenas will still work, (the rides at Disneyland, elevators, subway trains, etc.) though these things will generally not interrupt or effect the fights. 3) As always, original story lines don't matter, (Darth Vader could kill Luke, etc.), other than how they effect grudges, of course. However, any character can try to learn from their matches, or those of their opponents. However, other than these bits of knowledge, all is returned to as it was after each match. So if Bigfoot loses a leg in one fight, he is NOT still missing the leg in his next match, win or lose. Also if James Bond kills Obi Wan Kenobi and takes his lightsaber, he can use it in the rest of that fight but will not have it in the next match. Obi-Wan would of course get it back in his next match. 4) Instead of the regular 'every-being-for-themselves', style this is a team, event. Even those teams that may not work together well will have to try to win together. It is of course possible for a fighter to die and still 'win' if his/her/its teammates still win. 5) Instead of a single elimination tournament, this one will be a round robin. Each team will be grouped with 4 other teams and fight against all of the other teams in their grouping (bracket) one at a time. The 2 teams with the best record from each group (plus 4 'wildcard' teams) will enter a 64 team elimination tournament. 4) No 'picks' this time. Everyone has free reign to write whatever match you want, and however many matches you want in a week.. E-mail ALL matches to me. I will put together all the matches from any contributors each week. The exception being any one person can not write more than one match for any one team in one week. I will judge which one to print if two people send in the same match at the same time. Also, when we get to the tournament, I will not print any second round matches until the entire first round is finished, no 3rd round matches until the entire 2nd round is finished and so on. The last 3 (at least) rounds of the elimination tournament will be based on stories and votes, allowing as many people as possible to decide how the whole sha-bang ends. 5) As creator of this tournament I, Brian Ailshie, will settle any disputes. I don't think I will change any rules, but it has happened before. If I do I will e-mail all current subscribers, and post them here. To subscribe or to send any complaints e-mail me.
