| D BRACKET Match 1 - Brian Ailshie Darth Vader vs. The Green Ranger Two flashes appeared on the bridge of the 'Executor.' The first brought a thin man in Green spandex with a plastic mask and holding a plastic sword. He is called the Green Ranger. But as we will see, he will also be called ground meat. For the second flash brought a 6'7" monstrous man dressed in black body armour, wielding a red lightsaber. He is the Dark lord of the Sith, and Commander of the 'Death Squadron' of which the 'Executor' is the flag ship. And his ally is the Force. The Green Ranger jumped at the dark Lord and swung his sword. Vader lifted his lightsaber almost casually and sliced through the blade like a hot knife through butter. The ranger decided to try to kick Darth Vader next and was rewarded with a spray of blood as Vader's Lightsaber sliced through his leg just as easily as through the sword. The Green Ranger fell to the ground and Vader crushed his head beneath his boot like a cockroach. That was hardly a fight. Winner: Darth Vader Match 2 - Brian Ailshie Benjamin Martin vs. Indiana Jones As the light flashed away, Indiana Jones stood facing a man dressed in authentic Revolution era garb. Right down to the tomahawk, and black powder musket with a bayonet attached. That had to be Benjamin Martin, his oppponent. "Those things belong in a museum," Jones mumbled to himself. But he couldn't shake the feeling that he had seen this guy somewhere before. (For those who don't know, Indiana fought William Wallace [Braveheart] in the first tournament, both played by Mel Gibson). Well no time for that now, the guy was aiming his musket! Time to make scarce! Jones jumped into an open doorway along the hall, as the BANG of the musket echoed along. Quickly he jumped back out to shoot while his opponent reloaded. Indiana fired twice at Martin, as he charged towards him, tomahawk over his head. The first shot went wide due to Indiana's surprise that Benjamin was so much closer than before. However the second scored into his upper left arm. However the right was coming forward and the tomahawk flew from his grasp, straight at Indiana! A quick third shot ricocheted off the tomahawk and send it careening into the wall. Indiana breathed a small sigh of relief then Benjamin Martin was upon him. They grappled, each with a hand on the gun. Ben punched Indiana in the face and he fell down, pulling Ben with him. Over and over they rolled each trying to get a better grip on Jones' pistol. Finally Indiana lifted his knee into Martin's crotch. Ben grunted, the gun went off, and Indiana rolled to the side, bruised, beaten, but victorious. Winner: Indiana Jones Match 3 - Mark Ailshie 7 of 9 vs. Wonder Woman 7 of 9 didn't like this ship. It reminded her too much of a borg cube--nothing but sterility and emptiness. She heard footsteps and ducked behind a corner. A troop of armored stormtroopers marched by, on a never ending patrol. As the footsteps faded, she heard a soft whistling of tiny wheels. A tiny box-like robot, about the size of a toaster, wheeled by. Such an android would have basic knowledge of the ship's layout. She quickly caught the robot and injected her assimilator into it, downloading the knowledge she sought. She now had a basic map of what she now knew was the Super-Star Destroyer Executor; including the location of the computer core that ran the ship. She started in that direction. Wonder Woman had been in worse scrapes than this and come out alive. This ship was quite beyond her experience but the soldiers obviously were not. She had appeared in the middle of a squad of them who, after getting over their shock of having someone appear unwittingly in their midst, had fallen quickly to her Amazon fighting techniques. She now possessed a blaster and a stormtrooper utility belt. Now she just had to find this cyborg woman. They each turned a corner, and surprised each other. Seven got over her surprise first, and drew her phaser, destroying the gun that Wonder Woman had just drawn on her. Her next shot was aimed for her head, but WW deflected it with her bracelets, striking Seven's hand and disarming her. Seven hesitated, but settled into a fighting stance. WW smiled inwardly. This she was trained for. The two women locked arms, each surprised by the other's strength. Wonder Woman's strength was slightly greater, and she threw the former borg into a wall. Dazed, Seven hardly resisted as WW picked her up and threw her into another wall. This time, Seven pivoted in mid air, landed with her feet against the wall, and shot out against the Amazon, butting her in the nose with her head. WW was dazed, and Seven followed up with a series of karate chops and kicks that left her even more dazed. Seven bent to retrieve her phaser. "I'm sorry to do this. Under other circumstances, perhaps we would have been friends." She fired, but WW dodged aside at the last minute, and Seven blasted apart a computer terminal. Smoke filled the small room, and Seven couldnt find her opponent, the emergency fire fighting system was activated, spraying water down on the former borg. She searched the room for Wonder Woman, but couldn't seem to find her. Suddenly, out of the mist came a yellow rope. It circled around the phaser and yanked it out of Sevens grip. A moment later, the golden lasso is around her wrists, binding them together. Wonder Woman tosses the lasso over one of the water pipes, and shortly seven is hanging by her wrists about a yard off the ground. Wonder Woman retrieves her blaster. "Forgive me, sister," says Wonder Woman, and aims the blaster. Seven swings her legs up against the ceiling, narrowly missing a blaster bolt and kicking hard at a lit light bulb. The bulb breaks, and Seven uses her ankle to yank it down to the ground. It still has current in it, and when it touches the wet ground, the resulting shock electrocutes Wonder Woman. Off the ground, Seven is safe. Unfortunately she is unable to free herself from her wrist rope before the Executor security guards arrive. Without any chance to resist, she is placed in the brig with no weapon but her mind to face her next opponent. Winner: Seven of Nine Match 4 - Mark Ailshie Jack the Ripper vs. She-Ra Jack didn't like this. It was too bright on this ship; too much sterile light, not enough shadows to hide in. He still had no idea what he was doing in a one-on-one tournament. He was no warrior--he was a thug! He specialized in fighting unarmed women who were scared and alone. Well, if he must he must. He drew his scalpel with his left hand and went in search of this "She-Ra." At least it was a woman. She-Ra glared impassively at the stormtroopers. She couldn't tell whether they were running from her, or from Swift Wind. The flying Unicorn beat it's wings and glared fiercely. No matter. These were not her foes. The half sister of He-Man drew her sword and went to search for the "Ripper," a man she had never heard of. Jack saw her coming down the hall, and knew immediately that this must be She-Ra. She was tall and blond. Beautiful, Jack thought. But how am I supposed to reach her? She was perched on horseback, looking disdainfully at the stormtroopers scattering around her. And such a horse! Jack had never seen anything like it. Bright Pink with Golden hooves, a big horn coming out of its head, and huge swan-like wings. Jack climbed up a little ladder, and waited for her to come this way. She-Ra spotted the grey-suited man with the long moustache as soon as he tried to climb the ladder. She pretended not to notice him, and walked Swiftwind nonchalantly past him. As she had predicted, Jack dove at her, trying to land on the horse's back, where he could easily slit her throat. "Swiftwind, Clear!" called She-Ra. The great horse beat his wings once and spun in place. Jack impaled himself on Swiftwind's horn. With a groan, he dropped the scalpel. She-Ra clucked her tongue in disgust, and Swiftwind swung his great head and cleared the body away from his head. She-Ra never even had to unsheathe her sword. Winner: She-Ra, Princess of Power Match 5 - Mark Ailshie Predator vs. Raphael With a flash of light, Raphael appeared, gripping a sai in each three fingered hand. He looked around warily. This metal bridge looked suspiciously like the techno-drome, but somehow different. Then the teenage turtle looked out a window, and saw that he was in deepest space. "Swell. Now what do I do?" Just then, he heard a bubbling growl, like the call of some jungle animal. Immediately, Raphael spun around and hit a defensive stance, his ninja powers at their peak awareness. Nothing. Nothing to see, at least. "So," thought Raph. "He knows the ninja art of invisibility." This known, Raphael stretched out with his senses and listened. As the predator moved to a better position across the room, Raphael noticed the barely perceptible folding of colors, and struck out with his Sai! The tiny three-pronged dagger flew true across the room, and struck the alien predator in the shoulder. The monster roared in pain and dropped the silver disc it had been about to throw. Now, Raphael knew exactly where he was and attacked! The predator found itself in a hand-to-hand battle, such as he had rarely endured. That this earthling creature would dare to attack him with its bare hands and feet! Clearly, this was a master warrior, and the predator knew he had to face him with honor. The creature kicked Raphael hard in the gut (Shell?) and sent him across the room. Then he dropped his camouflage, and opened up his hand claws. With a fierce roar, he advanced on this green reptilian foe. Raphael hesitated. His attacks seemed to stun the creature, but not to significantly damage him. The alien seemed to just be warming to the challenge. "Okay, punk. Just you and me" "Just you and me" responded the predator, in Raphael's voice. And then the two closed in battle. Raphael was easily the quicker of the two, but his strikes were not doing much to slow the predator down. In turn, the predator was stronger, but he was having trouble hitting the Mutant. Once he almost slashed him in the face, but the turtle withdrew its head, and retaliated. Raphael was getting frustrated. "What the heck are you?" he screamed, as the predator again shrugged off a sai strike to its gut. "What the heck are you?" answered the predator. "I'm a turtle, That's what!" shouted Raph and lunged at the creature's face. Unfortunately, he didn't protect his stomach, and this time the creature had a straight shot to the turtle's middle. With such a straight shot, the claw burst through the shell into Raph's soft underbelly and tore it to shreds. Raphael coughed blood as he went down, and the Predator finished with a firm slash to the throat. The predator staggered. Though he had won, he had paid for that battle with some significant wounds. He would have to take time to heal himself. He turned on his camouflage, and went to look for somewhere that he could spread out his first-aid materials. Winner: Predator Match 6 - Robert Newell Optimus Prime vs. 'J' J walked down the corridor looking for his opponent: resident of Cybertron, designation Optimus Prime, leader of a faction called the Autobots, had been to Earth many times before. He had heard of this particular alien before. It was immune to his "flashy-thingie" as J called it. A characteristic that troubled J was that this alien was over thirty feet tall and heavily armed and armored. He was not sure if his noisy cricket would be powerful enough to subdue this creature, but he would certainly try. Prime began in one of the few places on this ship that would hold him, one of the TIE Advanced hangar bays. There was no place to exit in his current form. If he did transform he would barely fit down the corridor, but he did not know where it would lead to. Prime found a computer terminal and jacked into it. He was looking for a schematic of the ship when he was knocked violently through the hangar bay door. J had found Optimus Prime and he had fired his noisy cricket. Unfortunately for J, the blast had not penetrated Prime's armor. Even more unfortunately for J, Optimus Prime left a huge hole in the side of the ship as he exited it. The heartless vacuum of space sucked J out into the void. Optimus Prime managed to grab onto the Executor before he was blown out into space as well. He modified the polarity in his feet and they magnetized to the hull of the Executor. Emergency systems had already patched the hole in the side of the ship at this time, so Prime would have to find another way back in. Winner: Optimus Prime Match 7 - RJ Harris Ripley v. the Terminator The alien killer had been running around for hours on board the huge starship. Although she had fired a few shots at the one called the Terminator, she hadn't done much than rip off a bit of his synthetic flesh around the left arm and right eye. The cyborg looked more fierce than before. As she ducked into another hall, this one full of bars and men in white armor carrying blasters, Ripley thought to herself, "Unless I can get a more powerful weapon, or disarm this guy myself, I'm alien feed!" Suddenly from out of the darkness of the Brig, a woman's voice whispered, "If you get me out of here, I'll help you beat the cyborg." The offer was interesting; although Ripley knew nothing of the prisoner, she quickly agreed and made her way over to the jailer. With two quick blasts from her own gun, the jailer dropped his as he fell into a dead heap on the ship's floor. With this "distraction" gone, Ripley made her way over to the control panel to get the release codes. She quickly ran down the hall to where the woman (or actually the Borg, 7 of 9) was being held. But a step before she arrived the door she had come through not more that 4 minutes before opened again. "I told you I'd be back!" The Terminator, in all of his cyborg horror, entered the Brig. Ripley screamed as she tried to dodge the blast from his enormous gun. Unfortunately for her, he didn't miss--her head went in a million different directions; fortunately for Seven of Nine, his blast blew open her door. As the Borg walked out of her former cell, completely unharmed, he looked down and shook her head at what remained of the alien fighter. She bent down and placed Ripley's gun in her own holster. She looked at the Terminator and saw her reflection in the shades he had barely put on. She liked his style and anatomy--he was ALL cyborg. She thought to herself that he could be a powerful ally. "Come along, big one," she said as she made way for the door, "those idiots in white armor will be after us both now." The Terminator turned around and followed, for his work was done--at least for now. Winner: The TERMINATOR (7 of 9--Escaped) Match 8 - Alexander Strub Boba Fett vs. Wyatt Earp High Noon aboard the Executor. Two men face off, stubborn wills clash. The vigilante glares at the Sheriff, who can't even tell because of the strange helmet his opponent is wearing. True to life, Wyatt Earp is the quickest trigger, but bullets don't pierce Mandalorian Armor. The projectiles ricochet down the corridor, striking some unwary protocol droid. Fett raises his sawed-off blaster rifle. The good sheriff is blown away. This no-good bandit ain't from Arizona. The greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy doesn't stop to catch his breath. Winner: Boba Fett, duh! ROUND 2 Match 1 - RJ Harris Darth Vader v. Indiana Jones The observation deck was absolutely silent. The doctor didn't like that. He was too used to action to know that silence was a bad thing, that normally meant that an enemy was lurking somewhere. Indiana was right, dead right. The evil Sith Lord waited quietly in the shadows of his ship. His new opponent, unlike his first victim, looked strangely familiar--but, no matter, this scum must also die. "You are no Jedi! The Force is not with you! You are no match for me!" The cold words from Darth Vader froze the silent air; so much in fact one might be able to cut it with anything. Jones thought it best to try a gun first. Indiana drew his pistol and sarcastically retorted: "Well, I don't know about any 'Force' or what on Earth a 'Jedi' is, but I must tell ya' masked one, I can fight; I've dealt with guys like you my whole life!" The archeologist raised his gun only to have it snatched out of the air and into Vader's hands. Indiana exclaimed: "Impressive." With this said, Dr. Jones noticed a rather large stick in his opponent's other hand. "Well," thought Indiana, "I better disarm him!" Out came the whip and exactly as before the Sith Lord used the Force to take it from his enemy. The adventurer exclaimed with more surprise: "Most impressive!" Indiana was down to his last weapon, a bowie knife. He knew Vader would take that too, so this assault would have to be quick. The silver blade flashed against the starlight as Indiana grabbed and threw it in one sweeping motion. This time the weapon almost did its job. The knife twirled toward Vader and stopped in midair right in front of the Dark one's throat. Indiana's jaw dropped wide open as Vader, spun the knife the opposite direction and force-thrust it directly into the doctor's heart. Indiana Jones fell in a heap on the floor. As the Dark Sith walked out of the observation deck, he threw his opponents unused weapons onto the floor, for they would not be needed. The last words that Indy heard before he drew his last breath came from the Sith: "All too easy!" Winner: The Evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader Match 2 RJ Harris 7 of 9 vs. She-Ra The Borg known as Seven of Nine was pleased to be freed from the prison; yet, she knew that unless she acquired a weapon, she would fall in her next battle. She was to fight another woman--if Seven failed to get a gun, it would be more fair than the last one. 7 of 9 turned a corner on the huge starship. One lone man was on guard at a small crossroads. An easy prey indeed. The Borg walked up to the Stormtrooper, gave a "gentle" kick in the head and took his gun. Now she was ready. She-Ra had been looking for her first woman opponent for nearly two hours now. She was getting a bit on the weary side. The evil foe she had faced in her first battle was still fresh in her mind. "I must be cautious," she thought, "I can't afford a surprise attack." That is exactly when one came. 7 of 9 had been waiting on top of a rafter, and jumped down on top of She-Ra. The battle didn't last long; once She-Ra kicked the Borg off, she drew her sword. Before she could do anything else though, Seven took out the blaster she had stole and shot the princess. She-Ra dropped to the floor in a dead heap. Although her trusted unicorn friend had remained off to the side during the initial struggle, she now charged the Borg. Seven aimed and fired again, but the beast dodged the blast and instead opened up a trash chute. 7 of 9 had to act fast, for the beast was lowering a very sharp horn to spear her. Seven ran directly toward the beast and the hole behind her. Just as the unicorn was to make contact with the Borg, 7 of 9 shot a final time and dealt the beast a deadly blow. Within an instant, she had dived into the trash chute, into what she believed was a safe place. Moments later, after a near fatal attempt by Seven to open the trap door with a gun blast, she heard footsteps above her. Most likely it was those bothersome Stormtroopers, called in to investigate the commotion, but it could very well be her next foe. Only the next moments would tell. (To be continued. . .) Winner: Seven of Nine Match 3 Robert Newell Predator vs. Optimus Prime Optimus had still not found a way back into the Super Star Destroyer Executor. He had taken to driving across the surface of the hull in his vehicle mode, scanning for some way back into the ship. Optimus had heard of his next opponent. A ruthless hunter, infamous throughout the entire galaxy, Predator would be a worthy challenge to the leader of the Autobots. Predator made his way to the infirmary. The chemicals needed to make his healing medicine could definitely be found there. He had his camouflage running, just in case he ran into his next opponent. He was unusually wary for his last opponent had injured him quite extensively. Prime was still searching when his sensors picked up a faint signature of the Predator's physiology. It was near, but that was all Optimus knew. He transformed and tried to pin down the location of the Predator. Meanwhile, the Predator had almost made it to the infirmary. When he got there, the automatic door wouldn't open. His camouflage was a bit too good. However, he did not want to drop his invisibility when an unknown enemy could be nearby. In frustration, he jammed his wristblade into the door panel, and strangely, it opened. Predator walked through and began to prepare his healing. As soon as he was done, he would begin the hunt. As it happened, Optimus Prime was looking in the porthole when Predator came through the door. The door opened, and no one was there as far as Prime could tell. Was it the Predator? If it was, Prime had no way of telling where it might be now. Predator finished the healing, and prepared himself. He knew that this would make him feel completely better, but he also knew that it would hurt worse than anything when he first applied it. Steeling himself, he plunged the needle into his abdomen and let out an unearthly bellow. Unfortunately for the Predator, Optimus' audio sensors picked up the bellow and he knew for one brief second where his enemy was. A second was all that he needed and he shot his energy rifle from the hip and blew through the porthole, through, the Predator's chest, and into the bulkhead. Predator was killed instantly by a combination of high energy weapon's fire and bad luck. Winner: Optimus Prime Match 4 Robert Newell Terminator vs. Boba Fett Boba Fett sliced into the subjunction computer in the docking bay. Those high level Imperial codes he had purchased were worth every deci-credit. A quick search by the powerful computer located the Terminator with little difficulty. Boba Fett activated the anti-boarding defensive guns and targeted them on Terminator. Brilliant green bolts blasted into the cyborg. The energy weapons did superficial damage to his cosmetic alterations, but nothing major. Bob Fett took all of this in stride. He deactivated the artificial gravity in that section. Terminator floated around harmlessly. Boba Fett did a bit more slicing and depressurized the entire section. The Terminator was sucked out of a nearby airlock... out into oblivion. Boba Fett was unable to return the ship to normal before his access was locked out, but it had been enough. Winner: Boba Fett ROUND 3 Match 1 RJ Harris Darth Vader vs. 7 of 9 Our Story So Far: The evil Sith Lord, Darth Vader, easily defeated his last two opponents. Surely this next foe would be no different. Seven of Nine was unsure what her fate was. After being captured and escaping Imperial Forces, she had narrowly escaped death by diving into a garbage chute. The footsteps she heard moments later kept her on her guard... Seven's fears were finally confirmed, the Sith Lord Vader stood above her, looking into the hole she had created and jumped threw. "You won't beat me, evil one!" she screamed, suppressing the re-found feelings of fear. "We shall see about that!" bellowed back Vader. He held his hand out and using the Force, began picking up huge chunks of trash that encircled the Borg woman below. He flung everything from carbon rods to discarded Stormtrooper helmets at her. She screamed in pain, and in a futile attempt to save herself, shot blindly thrice toward Vader. Darth Vader dodged the first two blasts, and finally had had enough. He blocked her final shot and sent it back toward her with fatal velocity. The blast went directly into her neck and made her head explode, sending flesh and machine parts everywhere. It was a gory site, but that is what battle was--gruesome and Vader loved it. As the decapitated corpse of the Borg sunk into the trash, Vader watched long enough only to see the trash monsters begin to feed off her dead body. Content with his victory, the Sith Lord turned and walked silently down the corridor. His fighting was done, for now. Winner: Darth Vader, Sith Lord Match 2 Robert Newell Optimus Prime vs. Boba Fett Prime had finally found a way back into the Super Star Destroyer Executor. There was one open docking bay, and he entered it. He transformed and took bearing of his surroundings. There were many ships in his general vicinity, everything from small one-man fighters to troop transports that could carry dozens if not hundreds of troops. Boba Fett watched from his ship. Slave One had been parked in this docking bay. He had been trying to get back to his ship ever since this bizarre tournament began. He came here at Lord Vader's request... to hunt some smuggler and a few rebels... he never expected such violence to break out on the flagship of the Dark Lord of the Sith. In any case, he stalked his opponent carefully. It was a droid of some sort, though very large and powerful in his estimation. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Optimus wandered right in front of Slave One, without ever seeing Boba Fett. The ion cannon that Boba Fett had mounted under his ship spat its blue bolt at the helpless autobot. Prime was paralyzed. Most of his systems were down... it seemed to be his darkest hour... the matrix, he thought, was his only hope. With his last reserves of strength, he blew open his chest plate and struggled to reach the crystal matrix that he carried. But it was to no avail. Boba Fett trained his laser cannons on Optimus and blew him to pieces. Strangely, the matrix was unharmed. Boba Fett went to investigate the powerful autobot artifact. His carelessness here might cost him big, because as he picks up the matrix, Lord Vader enters the hangar with his retinue. Internal sensors had alerted him to the weapons fire after he had killed the female cyborg. Winner: Boba Fett (with autobot matrix in hand) ROUND 4 Match Robert Newell Darth Vader vs. Boba Fett Vader ordered his squad of Storm Troopers to attack. They laid down suppression fire as they closed in on Boba Fett's position. Boba Fett was in dire straits. The troopers were laying down heavy fire, and he was nearly pinned. He did have a few tricks up his sleeve though. He keyed into Slave One's slave circuit and turned the massive laser cannons on the troopers. The squad was blown to smithereens. He was about to turn the heavy guns on Vader, but to his horror, the barrels were quickly twisted into pretzel knots as Vader lifted one hand. Vader searched for his opponent with the Force. Fett was easy to track since he was no force adept. Vader knew his position, but he hesitated. What was that artifact Fett carried? The Force was strong near to it. He could feel the Force beckoning to him. He reached out through the Force to bring the matrix to him. Fett could feel the telekinetic pull that Vader was exerting on the matrix. Well, thought Fett, let him have it. He quickly slapped a rather powerful bomb onto the underside of the matrix and let go. Vader was too distracted with the matrix to notice the explosive attached to it. Just as he grasped the artifact, the bomb exploded. Vader was taken totally unaware. His life support systems were beyond repair and his legs had been blown off. Fett exulted in his victory. He had defeated a Sith Lord! Vader was totally helpless. He knew this to be a powerful artifact, but would it accept his touch? Could it heal him? He, a mass murderer, and evil beyond imagining. He looked back on his life, and realized it did not matter. He would no longer have to fight. The galaxy would have to be remade by someone else. He realized his decision to follow the Emperor was foolish, but he never had the guts to abandon his new master. With his last breath, he repudiated the Emperor, and fell back. He was finally at peace. The matrix opened. The Force filled Vader, and he stood. On real legs. His cybernetic implants fell away as he stood, whole, human, the son of the Force. He picked up his lightsaber and sent it flying at Fett. It speared him through his head, and the bounty hunter fell. As it came back to his grasp, he whispered quietly to himself. In my darkest hour, I was reclaimed by the Light. Vader is dead, that name no longer has any meaning to me now. I am Anakin Skywalker... Jedi. Winner of Bracket D: Anakin Skywalker |
