We go to Brian Ailshie, RJ Harris and their crew of commentators. And here are the winners: Match 1 New Dragon Army vs. New Jedi Knights Quarter Finals Bracket 1 - Ancient Babylon Brian Wrote: Ender: They won't fall for the same trap this time. These three are more of a cohesive unit. We'll have to try a desperate plan this time men. Orscon Card: Ender's troops nod grimly. He lays out a plan, and the four soldiers spread out. Brian: Bossk encounters Mara Jade first. He opens fire with his blaster rifle, but Mara deflects them with her lightsaber. She strides toward him steadily, until a loud boom takes out the stone building beside her. She instinctively puts up her arms to deflect the spray of gravel, but a large chunk hits her leg. Pinned down, Bossk and Punisher make short work of her. Punisher (into his communicator): Phase Alpha complete! Card: In another part of town, Ender opens fire on Leia. She also begins to deflect the shots with her lightsaber, however her concentration is broken when Gradion swoops from the air. Leia swipes the legs off the Gargoyle . . . Mark: He's a Grishnak. Not a Gargoyle. Card: Oh, sorry. Anyway, without legs he crumples to the ground dead. The break in Leia's concentration is enough though and Ender takes her out with his gun. Ender (also into his communicator): Phase Beta complete. We have a man down though. Good luck guys. Brian: Ender looks up and sees Luke. The Jedi Master sees his sister's corpse on the ground and rushes the boy. Ender fires bravely as he back pedals away from the Jedi. However, Luke deflects all the shots and finally swipes Ender's head from his shoulders. Ender falls at Luke's feet. Luke shakes his head then, with a gasp, starts to jump away. He only partly avoids the blast of Ender's thermal detonator. When Luke looks up from his dazed landing. Bossk and Punisher are already upon him. Caught from two angles, already in pain, Luke takes a shot in the spine from Punisher as Bossk is cleaved head to toe. RJ Wrote: RJ: In this match we have the NDA and the NJK. Master Yoda, how did this one play out? Yoda: Ender knew of the Force he did, but fight against it could he not. Every move by Luke, Leia, and Mara seen was it. MMMM. No move succeeded. Either anticipated or block by powerful Jedi. Match lasted hours and hours it did. The New Dragon Army was picked of 1 by 1, Ender until the end did he survive. Luke found boy genius and justice did bring to the one that slayed great Obi-Wan. Kermit, what happened here..where are all the trees? Kermit the Frog: Well, Gandalf the White had nothing to fear when the Dementor came upon him...he had already faced and defeated his worse fears. As a wizard he knew how to battle the Guard of Azkaban. He quickly banished the Dementor with a Middle Earth spell. Unfortunatly, Radagast did not fare so well against General Grevious. RJ: What exactly happened? Kermit: The Clone War droid leader, the Brown Wizard down quickly, only to die thanks to Bilbo, the Ring, and Sting. The Emperor saw all of this through his powers in the Foce, but the halfling was of little concern to him. Darth Sidious gave the hobbit a bit of shock therapy and turned his attention to Gandalf. It was now one on one. RJ: How did it end? Kermit: Well as you can see, by the looks of the forest, Gandalf cast a spell that counteracted the powers of the Dark Side of the Force and Palpatine exploded as he did in the rectors of the second Death Star. This left only Gandalf alive and his team at 7-1 will also head to Atlantis! RJ: So in the first half we will have another Lucas/Tolkien matchup. It should be most interesting. On to the other matchup where in... Right from the start Vader is besieged with attackers. Brian: That's right, Johnny and Sue Storm attack him and surround him like they did to Dr. Van Doom in the movie. Johnny gets real hot and Vader's suit starts to melt. However, Van Doom didn't have the force. Vader reaches out and force chokes Sue. Yoda: Falls over does she. Frontal attack does Torch try. But to powerful is the chosen one. The force is his ally, but the dark side does he embrace. The Torch to the ground does fall thrashing as his breath is stolen from him. Brian: But the fire storm was powerful enough for the task. Vader falls next to his victim gasping himself. Without the aid of his suit he suffocates and dies as well. Mr. Statistics: As all of that is happening, the other 4 combatants have not been idle. Brian: That's right. The Thing ran in and attacked Dooku. Dooku shoots a blast of force lightning at Thing, to no avail. Ash Ketchum: Yeah, rock type pokemon are immune to electric attacks. Mr. Obvious: But neither of them are pokemon! Brian: No, but the trend holds true. Thing grabs Dooku by the throat and slams him to the ground. Yoda: Much to learn Dooku still has. Mr. Obvious: But he can't learn anything more now, he's dead. Brian: Suddenly Thing's eyes go wide! He looks down to see a red shaft of light protruding from his chest. Maul gives a spiral yank and Thing falls dead with a large part of his rock hard internal organs removed. Mr. Statistics: But it ain't over yet. Mr. Fantastic attacks. He sends both arms and a leg lashing in at Darth Maul. Brian: But the Jedi's reflexes are just too fast. Also, Mr. Fantastic has no way to deflect a lightsaber. Darth Maul removes both arms and soon both legs. The leader of the Fantastic 4 falls dead, and the Sith Lords are victorious. RJ Wrote: RJ: The only undefeated team left is the Fantastic 4 and the Sith Lords have not had much of any trouble at all in their matches. John Madden: Vader had lost once to Oni-Wan, Padme, and his former self in this Tournament. No one else had to face themselves and Vader did not want to loose now...not when he was so close to the Finals. RJ: Quite right John. When the battle started, a Force choke-hold quickly did in the Invisible Woman. Mr. Fantastic and the Human Torch tried to avenge their wife/sister but to no avail. Madden: Yup. Mr. Fantastic was chopped into strips by Darth Maul and Count Dooku shocked the fire right out of the Torch..."Flame off!" RJ: Now when it was just down to the Thing and the 3 Sith Lords, he charged Dooku and made paste of the surprised former Jedi. But when Vader's attention turned to him, a very powerful Force blast sent the Thing flying...right into a slice of Maul's lightsaber. Madden: Another victory for Vader and Co. So at 7-1 they will advance and meet up with the winner of... Nightcrawler jabs a knife under the neck of Capt Tarpals then turns on the Ewoks as the Gungun gurgles on his own blood. Rogue grabs Jar Jar by the neck and starts to throttle him. Her draining power kills him before the Gungan actually chokes to death. Unfortunately for Rogue absorbing Jar Jar's 'powers' was not a good thing. She trips on the only rock within a 100 yard radius, and snaps her neck as she hits the ground. The Ewoks speed and agility makes it a little hard for Nightcrawler to catch them, until Ice-Man and Pyro appear. Ice-Man blasts Wicket and Chief Chirpa becomes Chief Crispy. RJ Wrote: RJ: The Cinderella story of the Tournament, WGGA, only loss was to the teachers of these mutant studnets. And these Young X-Men have had one of the most impressive upsets kicking Malissant out of the Finals, yet again. With me is Elmer Fudd. Mr. Fudd how did this last quarterfianl match play out? Elmer: Well, Pywro light up the fwurry Ewoks--they did not anticipwate fwacing such powerfwul humwans. Iceman took ouwt Jar-Jar and the owther Gungwanys. (Opponents of Jar-Jar Binks cheer at last.) Rwoge and Nightcwalwer did not evwen have to hewlp ouwt here. RJ: So, the two Young X-Men often at odds with each other have blasted their team also at 7-1 to a sinking Atlantis. Who will win, only another 2 weeks will tell.
