New Dragon Army vs. New Jedi Knights Quarter Finals Bracket 1 - Ancient Babylon Ender: Ok guys. This one will be rough. These guys can sense you with something they call the force. Try real hard to focus on nothing and perhaps that'll help hide you. Bossk: Two measly Jedi and a girl. We'll take them down flat. Ender: Don't underestimate them. Just stick to the plan. Ok. Gradion: We will sir. Ender: All right. Let's start with a full frontal assault then switch to attack pattern Epsilon Delta. Obi-Wan: Here they come. Use your saber Anakin. Cut them down. Anakin: I know, I know. Let's go. (he runs at his foes) Obi-Wan: Wait Anakin! I . . . (but it is too late, Anakin has charged ahead. Obi-Wan also chases after the now retreating foes) Anakin: They're splitting up. I'll take these two. (he chases after Ender and Punisher) Gradion (Into his comlink): I'm in position Bossk. You ready? Bossk (firing his blaster): Of course! There she is! (Padme, ducks from Bossks blasts and fires back, but Gradion hits her with the machine gun he borrowed from the Punisher) Obi-Wan: Here I come Padme! (He leaps in and Gradion takes to the air. Bossk fires at the Jedi Master and Obi-Wan reflects the bolts on his saber. A few charging steps and a side swing and Bossk slumps to the ground dead). Anakin: What happened (Gradion's corpse slumps to the ground as the Jedi appears)? Padme? PADME! Obi-Wan: They surrounded her. I came too late. Anakin: You let this happen! (He re-ignites his saber and attacks Obi-Wan) Obi-Wan: What are you saying? How could I let her die? Anakin: I loved her and you let her die! Obi-Wan: You're a Jedi. That kind of love is forbidden! (All this as the two duel back and forth) (Meanwhile) Ender: Ok. That finishes the North side. How are you coming Castle? Punisher: I've got the South side and the West side already and am working to you on the east side of this big garden building. Ender: Affirmative. Work quick, we don't know where they may move to next. (after a moment the genius and the demolition expert link their wires and Ender hits a switch. BOOOM! The whole Hanging Gardens collapses on the two embittered Jedi. Winners: New Dragon Army (6-1) New Jedi Knights (5-2) Match 2 - Mark Ailshie The Empire vs. The Dragon Reborn Quarter Finals Bracket 2 - Lamp Post Woods, Narnia General Grievous separates his arms and spins his lightsabers as three lightly armed women approach him. Suddenly, his arms are pinned with air as one of the women starts sticking him with spears and the other comes after him with daggers! Grievous' metal body turns the blades, but the bonds of air are more difficult to fight against. It's only a matter of time before they can crack open his armor and kill him. The Emperor scowls at Rand and leaps into the fray. The Dragon Reborn summons the void and begins running the sword forms that Lan taught him. The Emperor snarls and lashes out with the force. Rand counters with the One Power, and blasts the Emperor with flame! Palpatine retreats behind the trees, and Rand follows doggedly. Palpatine uses the force to yank trees out of the ground and send them flying at Rand, but Rand casually disintegrates the trees and lashes out with Fire and Air. Palpatine fights back with force lighting, but he is flagging. He never anticipated an opponent this powerful! Sweat stands out on his brow, and his features begin to age under the strain, as they did against Mace. He can smell the Ozone reflecting off his skin, and he tastes fear for the first time in many years. Rand pushes his advantage. He is hesitant to use Balefire, as that can have unintended consequences. From the corner of his eye, he can see that his concubines are having trouble with the cyborg, but no matter. As soon as... "No! My love! Fight it! Fight the madness!!" Rand blinks in astonishment. What was that? "No! My love! Don't!" "Ilyena! No, not Ilyena!" Lews Therin is screaming in complete agony. Rand stumbles under the weight of his horror. The murders of hundreds bear down against him. Brothers, parents, cousins, wife, children, friends and fellow warriors. The accumulated associations of a lifetime, snuffed out like candles cast in the rapids, again and again and again. Rand fell to his knees before the horror of it all! He knew--they all knew--what the Kinslayer had done in the past, but he had never fathomed the depth of his pain, the horrible crushing agony of his knowledge. Now, it was as if he felt all that agony in a moment. His eyes glazed over from the pain of conscience. He was only dimly aware of the dark robed figure that had seized him by the sides of his head. The faint screams of his wives were drowned in the screams of countless hundreds who had perished under his own hands. Elayne screamed for the tenth time, but it was far too late. The Dementor dropped its hood and administered the Kiss. Rand was almost grateful. Now, the Emperor turned his malicious countenance on Elayne and gave her a hideous smile. "Ironic," he said quietly. "He could have defeated me. But he could not defeat himself." With that, he gave a casual wave at the queen of Andor, and bolts of force lightning sprang from his fingertips, wracking her body in pain. She drops the bands of air that hold the General. Grievous finds himself free, and wastes no time in lopping off Min's arms, legs, and head, all in one swift motion of his four arms. Aviendha strikes out with the power, but suddenly finds herself reliving being strapped by the wise ones in front of the whole camp when she was in her youth. The embarrassment is awful, and she loses her focus. The Dementor slides toward her. She tries to fight off the General, but he cuts down her spears easily, and relieves her of her legs and arms. He leaves the head so the Dementor can suck out her soul. During all this, the Emperor has continued to saturate Elayne with Force Lightning. "Now, young Aes Sedai," he says grimly. "You will die." A brief mockery of a smile precedes his final attack, and Elayne faints and dies from the pain. Winners: The Empire (6-1) Dragon Reborn (5-2) Match 3 - RJ Harris Tolkein�s Heroes vs. X-Men Quarter Finals Bracket 2 - Lamppost Waste, Narnia RJ: Well Rumble fans, we have a super match here. The X-Men are undefeated in the tournament-only 1 of 2 teams still with such a standing. Gandalf and his friends are an impressive 5-1, their only loss coming to the Dark Shehaps. Elmer, how do you see this match playing out? Elmer: Well, I wreally don�t know. Both tweams hab an aweswome chwance of winning. It will wall come down to who outwasts the wother. RJ: Spoken like a true commutwator-I mean commentator. So on to the match. Jamie: The X-Men appear first and spread out as they always have before. Wolverine has picked up a scent and is off on the hunt. Storm takes to the air and surveys the situation. Cyclops and Jean are content to wait it out under the lamp. They talk in low voices and do not see the footsteps coming up to them in the snow. Mr. Obvious: It�s Bilbo with his Ring. I bet he has Sting with him too. Elmer: Wright again Mistwer Obviouws. Bwilbo strikes Cycwlops down-qwite a fweat for a Hobbwit. RJ: As Cyclops dies, he looses control of his optic blast. She shoots Storm out of the sky and the African Princess falls to her death. Jean is now at her wits end. She starts to frantically calling for Logan. Jamie: But Wolverine is no where to be found. He has taken the scent through the Woods to the Wardrobe Door. Prof. Kirk is there to greet him and inform the X-Man of his disqualification. Logan howls in rage and stalks out; but the Professor asks him to wait. RJ: Meanwhile, Gandalf steps away from the Wardrobe Door and turns to Radagast and tells him to complete his spell. The Brown Wizard enters Jean�s mind and directs her to where the rest of the Tolkein�s Heroes are waiting. Gandalf steps back into the shadows. Soon Jean is greated by Bilbo. Bilbo: My dear young lady, you and your team have fought greatly, but you have now come up against a team that surpasses you. You now have a choice-suffer death here or rejoin a teammate on the other side of this magical wood. The choice is yours; but before you decide, look though those trees there please. Jamie: As Jean looks through the trees she sees Gandalf, but top her eyes it is not Gandalf. Mr. Obvious: To her it looks like Magneto. It�s another case of R.M.I.S. Brian: Yes, in our previous Rumbles we have had Rumble Mistaken Identity Syndrome when two characters are played by the same actor. We haven�t had a problem with that till now. RJ: Anyway, the fear of facing Magneto alone is enough to drive Jean into the Wood and out the Wardrobe Door into Logan�s arms where he is waiting to comfort his teammate. Elmer: So Towkein�s Hewroes advwance. Jamie: They will face The Empire for the quarterfinal championship and spot in the Atlantis Finals. Winner: Tolkein�s Heroes: (6-1) X-Men: (6-1) Match 4 - Brian Ailshie We-sa Gotta Grand Army vs. Nintendo Allstars Quarter Finals Bracket 4 - Bonneville Salt Flats John Madden: Welcome back fighting fans! We're here in the Bonneville Salt Flats for what could be the last match of that annoying Jar Jar Binks! Jaime: You're one to talk about being annoying! Mark: I wouldn't count Jar Jar out yet. Brian: Case in point, the Ewoks just dropped a rock on Samus and crushed her. That won't help the Nintendo Allstars. Madden: According to my commentator notes Kid Icarus, is actually named 'Pit' who is the main character of the game called Kid Icarus. Brian: Ok, I made a mistake. Most of us knew who I meant. Madden: Anyway he flies up and tangles with the Ewoks in their gliders. Wicket swings a bola that wraps them all together! All three fall to the ground dead. Brian: Meanwhile, Capt. Tarpals manages to hit Megaman with a 'booma' before being blown to bits by a blast from the little robot's arm cannon. That brings it down to one on one. Madden: Link sees the hopeless Gungan and takes aim with his bow. He fires! Mark: Jar Jar slips on nothing causing Link to miss his arrow shot. Brian: By the un-imaginable luck of Binks the arrow ricochets off a rock behind the gungan . . . Madden: . . . into Link's chest! Unbelievable! Vizzini: It's totally inconceivable! Winners: We-sa Gotta Grand Army (6-1) Nintendo Allstars (5-2) Match 5 - RJ Harris Young X-Men vs. Nazgul Quarter Finals Bracket 4 - Bonneville Salt Flats The Dark Lord Sauron: NO MAN CAN KILL THE NAZGUL WITCH KING!! RJ: OK, that was creepy. Well the Witch King and his 2 Black Riders will have their hands full this time. Technically speaking Pyro, Nightcrawler, and Iceman might not be considered men because they are mutants. Rogue will definitely be the wild card here. Jamie: The match starts with all 7 competitors arriving in a large open salt flat. There is nothing for hundreds and hundreds miles. Mr. Obvious: Must be like Mordor. Only not so dark and sooty RJ: Sooty? OK--the first kill goes to the Witch King. Since he can only see that Forbidden World when you are invisible and wearing the One Ring, he can also see the Teleportation World of Nightcrawler. The Nazgul leader strikes his blade and the blue mutant is no more. Iceman and Pyro move in to attack the 2 black riders and are soon engulfed with their own element. The Witch king commands them to fight to save themselves and soon balls of fire and ice are flying everywhere. Jamie: Meanwhile, the only sensible one out there, the girl, starts to steal the "powers" of the two Riders. All of this new power is bound to have a negative effect. RJ: After an endless battle--well almost endless--Pyro and Iceman have succeeded in obeying Mordor and each lies dead. The Witch King turns to face Rogue and sees his 2 fellow Nazgul unmoving and without a power--basically dead. Witch King: NO MAN CAN KILL ME! Rogue: I am not a man or even human now. I will kill you! RJ: As she charges the Mordor servant, he reaches out and grabs her hand. His "power" drains from him and he ceases to exist. The additional power of the Greatest of the Nine, as his power leaves him, her powers exceed her and she also dies and joins her friends in the world of Nazgul that until now only took the neither living nor dead. There are no survivors. Mr. Obvious: We have a DRAW! The WWGA get a free pass to the Finals! Brian: Not quite. Rogue was alive for long enough to drain the life force of the Nazgul. When he died she won the fight for her team, again. Winners: Young X-Men (6-1) Nazgul (5-2) |
