| Match 1 - Brian Ailshie Young X-Men vs. Dark Shehaps Quarter Finals Bracket 4 - Bonneville Salt Flats This match starts with each team split up. Korps and Malissant find each other soon however, and they start to look for their enemies in this barren wasteland. Suddenly . . . <Bamph> . . . Some weird creature with dark blue skin and a tail appears and punches Korps in the face. He follows with a kick to Malissant's groin. The two Shehaps howl in anger and blast him with bolts of Ice and Malice, but <Bamph> Nightcrawler teleports away. Before either Shehap can comment on the strange attack, he's back. <Bamph> This time Malissant gets a fist in the face, and Nightcrawler jabs his knife at Korps. The Dark Shehap's cloak turns the blade, but only barely. Again, the bolts of Ice and Malice cross but <Bamph> he's gone. Now the Shehaps are fuming mad. Meanwhile Ice-Man and Pyro have also met up and they join forces to take on Gasponac. Ice-Man stops the Dark Shehap's first blast of Fire with a jet of Ice. Another streak of Fire blasts the mutants and again Ice-Man stops it with his ice-power. However the fire got closer this time. Ice Man: There's not enough moisture in the air around here to sustain my Ice attacks! A third blast of Fire takes out the young X-Man. Pyro: You gotta fight fire with fire! He blasts back at Gasponac and the two lock in a deadly fire battle. Suddenly a huge explosion erupts when one of them accidentally hits an underground gas vent. A smaller explosion later signals that both were killed in the fiery explosion. The two explosions surprise our other two Shehaps, and allow Nightcrawler to <Bamph> in a second time. This time his knife scores a hit on Malissant's shoulder. The evil one twists away yanking the knife free from the X-Man's grip. Nightcrawler once again <Bamph> teleports away. Two minutes later, he's back though. This time the Shehaps were more ready. It seems Nightcrawler is slower this time too, he kicks Korps' cloak and breaks a foot. Ice and Malice spear him this time, and his withered corpse falls to the ground. Mal and Korps revel in their victory, when suddenly another mutant interrupts them. Rogue <Bamph's> in. She must have met up with Nightcrawler and shared his mutant power for a moment. Rogue's gloves are off (figuratively and literally) and she grabs both Shehaps by the head. They aren't mutants, but she still draws their essence, a feeling very surprising for both of them. Both Shehaps are so surprised by the sudden arrival of a new mutant, and the strange attack that they are unable to strike back before it's too late. The two evil beings fall to the ground, their life essences drained from their bodies. As there was no piercing of Korps' body, it does not explode as Shehaps are wont to do. Mr. Statistics: Forget the Rohirrim's upset last week, even forget the continued existence of Jar Jar! THIS has to be the biggest upset of all time! Winners: Young X-Men (5-1) Dark Shehaps (4-2) Match 2 - RJ Harris Power of Moria vs. The Fellowship Quarter Finals Bracket 1 - Ancient Babylon These foes have fought before, just not here. The Fellowship lost a member when they faced a balrog; but as seen already, Moria is not invincible. Aragon has set his team up well. Legolas is perched high in a building window and Gimli is hiding out in the first floor. The Moria troll emerges first and is quickly taken down with 5 shots from an elf�s bow. During the shooting, Aragon battles the Orc chief and again leaves him headless. Now breathless Moria unleashed the feared balrog. Legolas has joined Aragon on the ground. �Now what do we do?� inquired the elf. The response came back: �Wait.� Suddenly Gimli comes running out of his building. �I�m over here you fire monster! Why don�t you come take a taste of my axe?� The balrog begins to advance. Legolas makes a move to go and help his dwarf friend but the Ranger restrains him. Seconds before the balrog was to consume Gimli, he hacks at the building with all of his might. Knowing much about stone as all mining dwarfs do, he causes the stone structure to fall and crush the smoke and fire of the balrog. His comrades rush to his side as he climbs out of the mess. �Well done, Master Gimli. Wouldn�t you agree, Legolas?� �Yes. That was most likely the most fool-hearty thing I have ever seen you do. That was a very well done job my friend.� �Thank you. Does that one count as two?� Winners: The Fellowship: (4-2) Power of Moria: (4-1-1) Match 3 - Robert Newell Dragon Reborn vs Jedi Masters Quarter Finals Bracket 2 - Lantern Woods, Narnia Mace Windu raised his purple lightsaber to strike. His opponent appeared unarmed, but the Force warned him not to underestimate the tall, red-haired man. At the last moment before Windu's blow landed, a sword of red and black flame materialized in Rand's expert hands and the duel was on. Blow after furious blow came and was deflected. Rand knew he faced a blade master, though one with a sword unlike any he had ever seen. Mace wasn't sure what he faced. The blade he faced was red, which indicated a Sith, but it wasn't actually a lightsaber. In any event, he never expected to find someone who was his equal with a blade. Min, Aviendha and Elayne looked on in wonder at the display that Rand and Mace Windu were putting on. All were thinking the same thought. Rand was so beautiful when he fought. Distracted as they were, they did not see the approach of Yoda and Qui-gon. They next thing that they knew, they were confronted by a man, and what was the short green being? In any case, both were wielding glowing swords and demanding their surrender. Min responded with a thrown knife at Qui-gon. He deflected it back at her with the Force and she was hit in the shoulder. Elayne and Aviendha shot looks of pure hatred at Qui-gon. In a moment, the two channelers of Saidar struck. Rand couldn't see Min being hit with her own knife, but he could sense her and her pain though their bond. He needed to end this quickly. Lews Therin whispered a suggestion in his mind and Rand smiled. His next move was the most aggressive attack he knew, Boar Rushing Down the Mountain. Mace move to block it, contemptuous of the obvious attack. Rand dismissed his sword an instant before it met the lightsaber, he re-summoned it after his movement brought it past Windu's block. His sword cut the Jedi cleanly in half. Rand ran to help his lovers, but they already had the situation in hand. Aviendha and Elayne were also enraged at the injury to the woman who was to be their sister-wife. The Jedi Masters were held prone with bonds of Air. They would have given a much better fight, but Aviendha and Elayne shielded them, cutting off their connection to the Force. Yoda and Qui-gon were totally unprepared for that assault and went down easily cut off from their crutch of the Force. Rand cut them down in his rage. All of this took less two minutes. Rand, Elayne and Aviendha rushed to Min's side, doing all they could to Heal her. Winners: Dragon Reborn (5-1) Jedi Masters (5-1) Match 4 - Brian Ailshie NY Heroes vs. Highlanders Quarter Finals Bracket 3 - Stone of Tear John Madden: Duncan and DareDevil launch at each other as soon as the two teams meet in the large throne room of the Stone. They're going at it like a couple of Scottish drunks after a soccer match. Al Michaels: I think they call it football John. Madden: Yeah but we know what football really is, we do it for a living right? Michaels: Well, but I don't think DareDevil is Scottish anyway. Madden: No, but Duncan is. Duncan takes a beating from DareDevil, but ends up still taking his head. Mighty Mouse: Here I come to save the . . . <SWAAT> Madden: Duncan also takes out the flying rodent! Michaels: Meanwhile, Connor and Electra have squared off too. The girl's fast, but no match for the best the Highlands have to offer. Soon her body is on the floor, her head a few yards away. Madden: At the same time, Ramirez has been chasing Spidey around to no avail. Every time the Spaniard gets close, the webslinger leaps out of the way, throwing webs around his foe. Finally Ramirez finds himself surrounded by webs. Spidey then drops in and kicks Ramirez in the back. The Spanish immortal stumbles and crashes into a huge glass window. Most of it shatters, but then a huge piece falls from the top of the window, landing on Ramirez, Mrs. Octavius style. Ramirez's body slumps to the ground. Michaels: Spidey looks over to see Electra and DareDevil fall. He starts to go to avenge them, but then something happens. Madden: It looks like some kinda lightning starts to come from here (he steps to the window marker in hand) by where Ramirez just died. The lightning zaps into Web Head, and he falls to the ground. Not Santa: He ain't dead though. Madden: Yeah, go away creepy. Anyway, the quickening dazes him and here come Duncan and Connor. They have to chop through the webs to get to Spidey. Will he shake off the stunning before either of his foes arrive and finishes him off? Michaels: Doesn't look good for the wall crawler either way. He's now against two immortals. Madden: And that does it, Spidey shakes his head and looks up just in time to see Connor's broadsword come crashing down on his head. Winners: Highlanders (5-1) NY Heroes (5-1) Match 5 - RJ Harris X-Men vs. Terminators Quarter Finals Bracket 2 - Lamp Post Waste, Narnia RJ: As soon as the Terminators landed, they stared firing. They had heard of the renegade humans and knew only their death would bring victory. Unfortunately they did not count on one of them having rejuvenation characteristics. Mark: Jean and Cyclops were the first to strike. Jean caused the original Terminator to loose focus for a moment. As he was a cyborg and still had part of a human brain, Jean could control him long enough for Cyclops to blast him into bits. RJ: T-1000 was next to die. Storm sent a bolt of lightning strong enough into him strong enough to cause quite an explosion. Meanwhile T-X and Wolverine were battling it out. A stray shot caught Logan in the forehead and he went down. The female Terminator then made short work of the other X-Men. Mark: Scott and Jean perished holding each other in celebration of their kill. T-X was confidant of the victory as Storm fell from the sky, but Wolverine has regained consciousness and ripped her apart from behind. He walked off in a fit of rage, claws out and teeth barred. Wolverine: Thanks for playing, little missy. How does antimantium taste? Winners: X-Men (6-0) Terminators (4-2) I had just started writing my own version when RJ's came. Rather interesting how some of the action is similar. Match 5a - Brian Ailshie Terminators vs. The X-Men Quarter Finals Bracket 2 - Lamp Post Woods, Narnia Brian: When the X-Men meet up with the Terminators by the famous Lamp Post of the Woods, mass chaos ensues. The T-800 Terminator attacks Wolverine. Logan can regenerate from his wounds and has a metal skeleton, the T-800 can ignore his wounds, and also has a metal skeleton. Mr. Statistics: Yeah, but Logan's is adamantium, and he's got the claws. Brian: True, Wolverine is just too much for the T-800. Arnold goes down with his cybernetics sparking and limbs all over the snowy woods. Mr. Stats: Meanwhile Cyclops and Jean have squared off with the T-1000. The Terminator's liquid form has some how allowed him to evade Jean's grasp, but then Cyclops' optic blast hits and takes out the T-1000. Brian: But look out! The T-X enters the fray and takes out Cyclops & Jean! Her newer Terminator body allows her arms to form into plasma cannons. Cyclops and Jean go down in a heap. Logan doesn't fare much better as the Plasma cannon gives him a 12 inch hole in the chest, through the adamantium. Mr. Obvious: I think that will be hard to regenerate! Brian: Ah, but finally Orora enters the battle. Storm blasts the T-X with lightning splattering it's liquid form all over the place. Winners: The X-Men (6-0) Terminators (4-2) Match 6 - Robert Newell Team Nintendo vs Rohirrim Quarter Finals Bracket 4 - Bonneville Salt Flats Robert: I think that the Rohirrim have run out of luck at last. Alexander: Yeah, I really don't see what they are going to be able to do against Mega Man and Samus. Robert: If it was just Link and Kid Icarus, they might have a chance... might is probably too charitable though. Alexander: It looks like they struck the first blow though. Eomer hit Kid Icarus with an arrow from his horsebow. He's falling...ouch. Now it is three on three. Robert: Yeah, but it isn't even close to a fair fight. Link has snuck up on the Rohirrim with his invisibility cloak. Theoden goes down under a might bow from the Master Sword. Eomer and Eowyn spur their horses to escape from their invisible foe. Alexander: Running isn't going to be enough. Samus and Mega Man fire a coupe of homing missiles that are going to hit in three... two... one... ooh, that's not pretty. Robert: And the mighty Rohirrim are no more. Winners: Team Nintendo (5-1) Rohirrim (4-2) Match 7 - RJ Harris We-sa Gotta Grand Army vs. The Warriors Quarter Finals Bracket 4 - Bonneville Salt Flats RJ: Well, Master Yoda, WGGA has a tough match up today. Do you think that they can continue their luck versus the Warrior-who are undefeated in team play? Yoda: Luck? There is no luck. Only the Force there is. RJ: Are you saying that Jar-Jar may have the Force? Yoda: In all things the Force is. It makes and sustains all life. These Warriors also have some element of the Force. Use their power for good do they. John Madden: Well, out here is the Flats of Bonneville-I mean the Bonneville Salt Flats-and that may have something to determine at the end. (He continues to munch on his chicken wings.) Yoda: Speaking better you must do. And not try! (Yoda takes the bucket of wings by the Force.) And no more wings for you. (He smiles and laughs at himself.) RJ: Well on to the match. Jar-Jar is leading the way as the Warriors approach. He gets tangled in his mounts reins and falls into a salt pile head first. Madden: The Warriors pay him no mind and soon Conan has decapitated Wicket. Red Sonja took out Capt. Chirpa and Paks leveled Capt. Tarpals to the ground. RJ: The Warriors are standing around and wondering why they have not been awarded the win. Meanwhile, Jar-Jar digs his way out of the salt pile and begins having a sneezing fit that would wake up the dead. This got the attention of all 3 Warriors. Madden: Ever ready for the kill, all 3 charged Jar-Jar. Jar-Jar: Oh-sa mee gettins outta here! RJ: He turns to run and runs into a wagon full of bombas. He turns to look at the charging force and pushes the cart towards them and dives back into his salt pile. Madden: After about 300 explosions, Jar-Jar comes out and cheers. He won it for his team this time, and not by accident. Yoda: Underestimate no foe can you in the Rumble. Winners: WGGA (5-1) Warriors (5-1) Match 8 - Mark Ailshie New Dragon Army vs. Vampire Slayers Quarter Finals Bracket 1 - Ancient Babylon Ender puts Bossk's binocks to his eyes and scans the city. No sign of the enemy. "Time to flush them out," he tells his troops. "Punisher, change to the special clips" The punisher puts silver bullets in his uzis, just in case Van Helsing is from the later half of the movie. Ender signals, and Gradion takes to the air, howling a battle cry. It takes only a few seconds for the slayers to spot the winged warlord. "Vampire!" say Van Helsing and Simon together. "No, wait!" shouts Buffy, but it is too late. The boys point their weapons at the sky and start firing. Grumbling, Buffy ducks behind a vegetable cart. Axes flip in parabolas at Gradion, and Crossbow bolts shoot by him. The lost king of the valley effortlessly dodges them all. Once their position compromised, it isn't long before the slayers find themselves under assault from two sides by Bossk and the Punisher. A spray of bullets from the Punisher find Van Helsing's chest and nearly cut him in half. Bossk is keeping Simon's head down with his blaster rifle. But suddenly, Buffy leaps out from behind her cart and karate kicks Bossk's rifle out of his hands. "Lees looke fer Alf!" snarls the Trandoshan Bounty Hunter, but Buffy kicks him hard between the legs, and then plants a wooden stake in his chest. I guess Bossk looks more like the kind of vampires she deals with. However, even if he isn't a vampire, a pointy piece of wood in the chest will stop even the hardiest Bounty Hunter. Simon is inspired to fight better, and launches two flaming blue boomerangs at the Punisher. Frank Castel ducks behind another cart, but Simon advances on his position and dumps a fire bomb on the cart, causing it to erupt into flames. >Crack< Suddenly, a precision blaster shot strikes Buffy between the eyes. Gradion is carrying little Ender, who is aiming Bossk's spare hold-out blaster which he appropriated before the match. Simon whips an axe at the airborne team, and strikes Gradion in his left wing. The Grishnak drops Ender and falls out of the air and crashes to the ground. Ender crashes into a stone wall and breaks his little nine-year-old neck. Simon advances on Gradion, his Morning Star already spinning, and to his surprise, the Grishnak lord stands on his feet, carrying a similar mace and chain weapon. He snarls at the vampire hunter, and Simon braces himself for an epic battle. >>Bratta-bratta-braat!<< Looks like the Punisher was only wounded by the fire bomb. Simon is swiss-cheesed. Gradion looks mildly put out that he wouldn't be able to face a fellow mace wielder one on one, but the New Dragon Army has survived on efficiency and covering one another's back, not on personal grudge matches. Winners: New Dragon Army (5-1) Vampire Slayers (4-2) Match 9 - RJ Harris Fantastic Four vs. Hulkmania Quarter Finals Bracket 3 - The Stone of Tear RJ: Well we have a great match of unbeaten teams. Both are 5-0 and looking to advance here today. The group of four superheroes knew that this would be a tough match, but I never thought it would turn out easy. Kermit: Yes, the Hulk and his buddies were lured though tunnel after tunnel by Mr. Fantastic. Hulk continued to shout out something about �stretchy man coming here� and at last all 3 were lured into a large room. RJ: The Invisible Woman helped seal of the room with her force shield and the Thing gathered up huge trees and barricaded the entire area. The Human Torch set the place ablaze and in a few minutes all 3 members of Hulkmania began to burn alive. Mark: But didn�t the Hulk gain in size as he got angrier? RJ: Yes, but because the Invisible Woman was still holding a force shield around their room, Hulk could not get out. In a few moments time, the room began to collapse-aided by the Thing. Mr. Incredible reached in and pulled out the Human Torch and the Invisible Woman. Once the rubble settled the judges declared that the Fantastic 4 had won and will advance to face the GI Joe & Sailor Scouts winner. Winners: Fantastic Four (6-0) Hulkmania (5-1) |
