| Match 1 - Brian Ailshie Batman & Friends vs Shredder's Gang Group Q - Gotham Sewers John Madden: Batman is using his usual tactic, taking out enemies when they're not looking. Shredder has thrice now turned to talk to his allies only to see that being gone. Finally the four Bat Friends drop in on Oroku Saki. A powerful ninja, he takes out both Robin and Batgirl; but this time he is hopelessly outnumbered. Mr Statistics: Batman redeems his loss in Week 42 Winners: Batman & Friends (1-1) Shredder's Gang (0-4) Match 2 - RJ Harris Green Flash vs. Special Agents Group AD-Chicago Subway RJ: Well this match is so very important. With 3 teams standing with only 1 loss, neither of these teams can afford to loose. It is basically win with another perfect 4-0 and your in at #1 for the Green Flash; loose and go home for the Special Agents-that would secure a #2 for Superman and Co. A reversal of the outcome or a draw and we�ll have to send it to Mr. Statistics to see who advances. Jamie: And with no further ado, the last match here begins. It seems that Anderton is taking the lead this time. He is walking out of a subway with some kind of gun-in fact all of the Agents have them. Mr. Obvious: They are the blast weapons developed with the Pre-Crime Division. RJ: As the Agents start to fire, the Flash and Gordon run around and just cause the Agents to miss and this begins their downfall. The Green Lantern was hiding and now knows how the weapons work. He imagines a shield that amplifies the force of the gun blast and with the help of his ring, 3 of the shields exist. Jamie: Flash and Gordon run back to where the Lantern is hiding and each comes out with a shield. The Agents quickly surround the group and prepare to fire. RJ: Upon Lantern�s command, the Green Flash hide behind them and the 4 blast from each Agents rebounds and kills the would-be executioners. No draw this time and no Elimination round for the Agents. Green Flash is #1 and Super Beings will be #2 from this very packed group. Rumble On! Michaels: Mercutio, Brutus, and the MacBeth's are down too. Mr. Mind Reader: It seems that Dr. Strange melted their minds while everyone was physically frozen and unable to move to stop him. Winners: Mind Twisters (1-2) Team Shakespeare (0-4) Match 4 - Mark Ailshie Forces of Dulba vs. Avengers Group D - Baladox Tower "I'll scout it out first!" called Wasp, shrinking to an inch high and sprouting wings. She sailed up to the top of the tower and looked in the window. She saw three men and some kind of shadow-being. "I don't think this group has any idea who or what we are, Uncle. We can use that to our advantage." "Agreed, Slink," one of the men answered. "Our bickering amongst ourselves must stop." The shadow paused a moment, and the Wasp thought it might have smiled. "The great thing about being a master of subtlety," the shadow called Slink said. "Is that I can recognize it in others. That's one of the great things, at least." Then, the shadowy man seemed to melt directly into the darker shadows of the room. Wasp just had time to wonder if this was a mutant ability similar to what Psylocke did before the man pointed directly at her, and a lance of frozen air speared at her, encasing her miniscule body in ice. She tumbled backward out the window and plummetted nine stories to shatter on the flagstones. Thor grunted. "By Asgard, we can't wait for Wasp's report any longer. Let us move out." So saying, the God of Thunder moved to the base of the tower, Magneto's children in his wake. Three men stepped out of the door to meet him. The one in the center bowed to him in mockery. "Welcome to my home, O god of thunder," he said with a twist of his mouth. I have prepared a fit welcome. He raised one hand, and suddenly a bolt of lightning leapt from him directly at Thor! Thor dodged aside, astonished that any mortal could use lightning as a weapon against him. Now, the man shot bolts of force and power at Quicksilver and the Witch, but they dodged them as well. Quicksilver tried to speed up to attack the man, but was intercepted by the two burly warriors in plate mail. Grimly, Thor drew Mjolnir and stalked forward. The man hurled another spell at him, and he knocked it aside with his hammer. The man's mouth dropped open, and Thor charged, knocking the guards aside like bowling pins. The man kept retreated into the tower, continuing to launch spells, and Thor followed him, continuing to parry every assault. Finally, Thor brought his mighty hammer down on the man's skull, and it smashed like a ripe fruit. Slink gave no warning. He never did. He simply faded out of the shadows and stabbed Thor in the back, right where his massive heart should be. Slink was well practiced in making that strike, and he did not miss. Thor cried out once, and then fell on his face. Slink smiled, retrieved his dagger, and waited for his powers to return. He eyed the hammer for a moment, and tried to lift it. But it wouldn't budge. It knew Slink was unworthy. Meanwhile, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch had been casually taking apart the Barbon guards, when suddenly they both fell to their knees. "Oh, mighty Lord Ravanark!" they cried in unison. "Let me be worthy to house you!" One of them got an odd expression of bliss, followed by a split second of complete terror, and then settling into quiet confidence. They both stood. Quicksilver blinked and readied himself to fight again. The confident guard pointed at Quicksilver, and a bolt of flame shot at him! If Quicksilver had been anyone other than himself, he would have been barbecued instantly. Instead, he sped around the man, trying to confuse him. Meanwhile, The Scarlet Witch used her hex powers to make Ravanark's bolts continue missing. The Barbon knight advanced on her, and she turned her attention to defending herself. Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, Quicksilver saw a shadow behind his sister seperate from the tower and resolve into a man with a knife. He cried out, and sped over to stop him, but was a fraction of a second too late. The shadow slit his sister's throat, and then Quicksilver was on him, punching, kicking, and using the shadow's own weapon against him. In seconds, the shadow gasped in death. Quicksilver turned toward the other. >BOOM!< Quicksilver picked himself up off the ground. The shadow-being's corpse had actually exploded! He was now halfway across the valley. No matter. He shook his head to clear it and charged. He was across the valley in an instant, and attacking Ravanark before the other had even seen him coming. Punches, kicks, and karate chops were nothing to a good knife, but they would do the trick if there was enough of them. Ravanark couldn't clear his head enough to cast a spell. Then, Ravanark fell to his knees, and cast something desperate. His body erupted into gouts of flame. He could hear the avatar's dying screams in his mind, but that didn't matter. Quicksilver was doused in flames and agony. "That should slow him down," Ravanark thought just before the avatar died. His essence traveled accross the space between his dying body and the last remaining Barbon guard. He was already on his knees, chanting the guards' foolish prayer. He swept into the man, took possession of the body, and leaped to his feet. The new avatar wasn't even done screaming it's surprise and horror when Ravanark took aim at the still burning Quicksilver and blasted him into ashes. Winners: The Forces of Dulba (2-1) Avengers (3-1) Match 5 - Brian Ailshie Great Cops vs Hidden Dragon Group Y - Tombstone, AZ Brian: Talk about starting with a bang! The Great Cops really don't want to be shut out, so they come out guns blazing. Yu Shu Lein is hit right off and goes down. Jen Yu and Li Mu Bai use their special powers and leap away. The Great Cops are bewildered at first by this "impossible" maneuver, and Jen Yu is able to take out Hunter and McCall with a pair of her knives. The Cops recover though and begin firing at the two airborne Chinese. Riggs gets a lucky shot and hits Jen Yu in the leg. The pain breaks her concentration and she falls from the sky, landing in an uncomfortable position. Wyatt Earp: That's an understatement. Her neck is snapped backwards by the wagon she landed against! Brian: Well, that is uncomfortable! Riggs and Murtaugh turn to find Li Mu Bai, but he's gone. They unwisely split up to find him. A few moments later Riggs hears a shot and runs to investigate. He finds Murtaugh on the ground in a pool of blood. Riggs stoops to check his friend, knowing it's the worst. A crunch of gravel is his only warning as Li Mu Bai lands behind him. Riggs turns quickly firing from the hip, but misses and Li Mu Bai swipes his head from his shoulders. Mr. Statistics: And yet another winless team. There have been many more of those than undefeated teams. Winners: Hidden Dragons (1-1) Great Cops (0-4) Match 6 - RJ Harris Group Q--Gotham Sewers TMNT vs. Batman & Friends Documentary Voice-over Guy: Batman knew these sewers; Gotham was his home and he had battled here before. He knew that the loss to the young human mutants couldn't be reversed--but he would not lose to the young turtle mutants. His strategy was clear. Each of his team would take out one. He had analyzed and paired his comrades to his foes--this time the Bat would win. RJ: Ok, well this seems a bit dull, so I am going to sum up. When all was said and done is was 4 one-on-one matches. Batman battled Leonardo, Batman Beyond took on Raphael, Batgirl fought Donatello, and Robin duked it out with Michaelagelo. It was a long battle--much to long to commentate here. After the melee was over--Only Batman and Beyond remained. Batgirl and Robin died but also weakened their foes--not enough to kill them though. Batman and Beyond took the weakened turtles out quickly and that distracted Leonardo and Raphael just enough that a Bat-bomb did the rest. D.V.G: And the remainder of the story is catalogued in the Annals of Tournament History. Winner: Batman & Friends (2-1) TMNT: (2-2) Match 7 - Robert Newell Batman and Friends vs Batman's Enemies Group Q - Gotham Sewer System Robert: This will be a cakewalk. Batman has taken all of these guys so many times it isn't even funny. Alexander: But has he ever taken them all at once? Robert: I think so, in any case he has "help" as well. Alexander: Help? Ha ha, Batman's friends are pathetic. In fact, Robin is already dead. He got frozen solid by Mr Freeze. Robert: But his future trainee is doing very well. He's already taken out Two-Face and the Penguin. Ooh, the Joker just gassed Batgirl, the fight is now four to two. Alexander: Actually, now it is two on two. Batman took out Mr Freeze and the Joker with batarangs to the head. Robert: And just like that, the match is over. The super hightech suit that Batman Beyond has is too much for the femmes fatales. Basically, it is really hard to dodge heatseeking rockets. Winner: Batman and Friends (3-1) #2 Seed Group Q Batman's Enemies (2-2) Young X-Men #1 Seed Group Q GROUP FINISHED Match 8 - Mark Ailshie GI Joe Ninjas vs. Feydakin Group N - Cobra Island Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow cut their way through the corridors of Cobra Island, as they did so long ago, letting no one stand in the way of their ultimate quest. It is a similar quest today... "He still must pay," Storm Shadow said. "We never caught him last time--he still has not paid for the death of my uncle." Snake Eyes doesn't answer, But Storm Shadow is aware of his thoughts on vengeance. They turn a corner, and find themselves facing Stilgar and Chani. The fremen step back as they arrive, and draw their weapons. The ninjas are just too fast. Storm Shadow's katana severs Stilgar's hand before he can draw his knife, and slits his throat on the back swing. Snake Eyes parries Chani's knife thrust and then opens up with his Uzi submachinegun. She is dead before her body hits the floor. The time for subtilty has gone. Meanwhile, Alia and Paul are having an easier time with Jinx and Scarlett. The presence of the voice, and Bene Gesserett training makes quite a difference. Scarlett shoots her crossbow at Paul, and he bands like a reed in the wind to avoid it. Jinx attacks Alia with her Naginata, but Alia sidesteps her attack, taps her shoulder to stun her, and drives her crysknife through the young ninja's eye. Paul dodges another crossbow bolt, and then levels his weirding module at the GI Joe Intelligence oficer. She is blown to smithereens. "You won't find us so easy to defeat!" boasts Storm Shadow." Paul responds by firing the module at him and Snake Eyes. The ninjas dodge aside, and Snake Eyes whips three knives at Leto's children. Paul flattens to avoid his, but Alia gets stabbed directly in the chest. "Three down, one to go!" calls Storm Shadow from his cover. "He is also your enemy!" shouts Paul, using the Voice. Storm Shadow resists, but his mind is particularly vulnerable to mind control regarding Snake Eyes being an enemy--Cobra Commander and Dr. Mindbender had implanted that lie long ago. Snake Eyes sees Storm Shadow's struggle and puts his sword brother into the near-death "Sleeping Phoenix" trance. It is down to the two captains. "Let us parley," calls Paul, hoping to trick Snake Eyes in to speaking so he can use the voice. "What have you to lose here? You move on in any case. But if we lose here, we go home. Surely you see the wisdom in letting us both move on?" Snake Eyes doesn't answer. "Alright, then," continues Paul. "Then let's put all the tricks aside, and meet man to man. What do you say?" Paul glances out of his cover, and begins inching his way closer to Snake Eyes' hiding place. He pops around the corner, his Weirding Module already held ready. The corridor is empty. Suddenly, Snake Eyes drops from the ceiling, grappling the weapons away from him. A burst of Ninja fighting, and Paul's neck is broken. Winners: GI Joe Ninjas (4-0) #1 Seed Group N Feydakin (2-2) Cartoon Heroes #2 Seed Group N GROUP FINISHED Match 9 - Robert Newell Mind Twisters vs The Fores of Dulba Group D - Baladox Tower This was quite the fight, until Dr Strange got really mad. The Reverend Mother used the Voice to make King Ravanark to kill his Barbon Knights before he even knew what was going on. Slink killed the Reverend Mother without her even seeing him, bringing the fight even to two on two. The Shadow was holding his own against Ravanark when Slink assassinated him as well. Dr Strange had had enough. Summoning his most potent magics, he banished Slink and Ravanark to another dimension. Since the Forces of Dulba have left the arena, the Mind Twisters win.
