| Match 1 - Brian Ailshie TMNT vs Shredder's Gang Group Q - Gotham Sewer System Brian: Didn't we all know the outcome of this one from the beginning? Shredder never beats the turtles. Mr. Statistics: Well, sometimes he does win momentary battles, and this does qualify as a momentary battle. Brian: Barely. See, it's already going the turtles' way. Leonardo just met up with Bebop and Rocksteady. Mr. Statistics: A 2 on 1 is going the turtles' way? Brian: Well a 2 on 1 wouldn't but a 4 on 2 is. You see Don, Mike and Raph were just around the corner from Leo and now they've made quick work of the two other animal mutants. Now the whole match is a 4 on 2. <CRASH> Mr. Statistics: Make that a 3 on 2. Krang just smashed through the wall of the sewer, crushing Raph in the rubble. Brian: Actually adding Krang and subtracting Raph makes it 3 on 1. Mr. Statistics: I think I can do basic math. Shredder is right behind Krang. And now it's a fair fight. Shredder just took out Mike with his hand claws. Brian: Make that a 2 on 1 again. Leo attacked Krang and backed him up against Don. Don smashed his Bo staff through the brain capsule, leaving Krang as a disembodied brain, which Leo turned into sushi. Mr. Statistics: Ok, but Shredder has always been a foe the Turtles had to face together. Now their facing him with half their number gone. Brian: Yes, but the stronger half remains. Leo locks his katanas in Shredder's claws and Don thumps him on the head with his staff. A fast jab later and it's over. Just like I said, Shredder never beats the turtles. Mr. Statistics: True this time, but not by much. It could be different another time. Brian: Fortunately for the turtles, there won't be another time in this tournament. Shredder's Gang is 0-3 and out of the tourney, even if they beat Batman and Friends. Mr. Statistics: Now that's not likely. Winners: TMNT (2-1) Shredder's Gang (0-3) Or if you perfer, here's another way it could have happened. Match 1a - Robert Newell Shredder's Team vs. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Group Q - Gotham Sewer System It wasn't quite New York City, but the turtles feel quite at home in the Gotham Sewer system. They are in their element. Shredder's team is definitely not. Bebop and Rocksteady are incompetent at the best of times. The muscle-bound morons are quickly taken out by an ambush from the murky water. Both are knocked unconscious, Bebop by Michaelangelo's nunchaku and Rocksteady by Donatello's bo. They sink into the filth and drown not too long later. Krang continues to cackle, confident in his victory, when a thrown sai embeds itself into the mid-section of Krang's robot body. It pierces the transparent shield guarding the brain creature and impales Krang on six inches of steel. The turtles quickly regroup and confront the Shredder together. In a rage, Oroko Saki hurls himself at his foes, but four on one is too long of odds for the leader of the Foot Clan. All of the turtles are injured in the frantic melee, but Shredder eventually goes down with a katana through the eye. Winner: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles (2-1) Shredder's Gang (0-3) Brian's Note: For the sake of possible tie-breaker scenarios, I'm going to go with the results of my match as far as deaths and what not. Match 2 - Alexander Strub Superfriends vs. Tolkien's Heroes Group R - Hobbiton Comic Book Guy: Wow. What a match. Yawns. Tolkien: Clearly my characters have the advantage. Alexander: Clearly your characters always have the advantage. You gave half of them godlike powers. Robert: And the other half have star power so they can't die. Tolkien: Well, there was Boromir... Robert: Let's not even go there. Alexander: Whoops! We missed the match. Comic Book Guy: That's okay, I just bought the Limited Collecter's Extended Deluxe Edition. Alexander: So what actually happened? Comic Book Guy: It was totally awesome! Amazing! Er, not that much. Gandalf shot Hawkman out of the sky in a fiery inferno of death with his Istari Light. Radagast summoned a couple of badgers who ate Aquaman, as the latter was crippled like a fish out of water. Robert: Bad pun. CBG: Silence! The wonder twins turned into shoes and began to kick Bilbo. But since hobbits don't wear shoes, they were like a spectacle and Bilbo took them to the hobbit museum in Michel Delving. Alexander: No wonder. Robert: Another bad pun! Tolkien: The judges rule that removal disqualifies them, since the 2 wizards are the only remaining, living contestants in the match! Alexander: Just who are the judges? Q: Me, of course. Robert: Oh, no! Not again! Winners: Tolkien's Heroes (2-1) Super Friends (0-2) Match 3 - Brian Ailshie Feydakin vs Video Game Ninjas Group N - Cobra Island Brian: Well Stilgar was more than adequate to finish off the Double Dragon brothers. Tommy got the Chrysknife in the neck, Billy got it across the throat. Chani found Thomas and finished him off just as fast. The only challenge then was the Ninja of Gaiden. Frank Herbert: A ninja is a formidable opponent, but against four Feydakin warriors, he is nothing. Brian: Make that 3 warriors. Ryu just pegged Alia in the forehead with a shiruken star. Paul: AAAURRARRAA! Frank: And he succeeded in bringing forth the wrath of Maud Dib. His chrysknife flies from his hand and takes the ninja from his tree perch. Paul then runs to him and snaps his neck for good measure. Winners: Feydakin (2-1) Video Game Ninjas (0-3) Match 4 - RJ Harris Young X-Men vs. Batman & Friends Group Q - Gotham Sewers RJ: And at long last, The Dark Knight and his companions have made an appearance at the Tournament. Only 2 teams now have yet to see any action. This match starts off with both the Young X-Men and Batmans team under the infamous Arkam. And not to worry Tournament fans, both of the creators of these fabulous comics, along with the Executive Boards of Marvel and DC Comics have been given separate time out rooms. Anyway, Jamie whats going on? Jamie: The X-Menwhy they call it that, I dont know, there is a lady on their team toothey start scouting the area and soon realize that they are not alone. Batman and Batman Beyond have been watching and observing too, while both of the younger of the Friends have begun to fight. The battle begins with a blast ice directed to Robin from Iceman followed by a shot of fire from Pyro-Robin simply vanishes in a poof of steam. RJ: Rouge has attacked Batgirl and steals the life from her; its now 4-on-2. Both Pyro and Iceman turn their attention to the Caped Crusader, soon Rouge joins in with some added martial arts instincts. Just as Batman Beyond is ready to join the fray, Nightcrawler attack and baffles Beyond enough that he starts throwing Bat-weapon after Bat-weapon at the teleporting mutant. Jamie: One of his shots hits a gas pipeline near the Dark Knight-Batman screams out as the blast blows him to bits. Beyond is also soon fried to death. RJ: Luckily, the Young X-Men had banded together and Pyro and Iceman were able to control the blast around them, with Rouge and Nightcrawler safely between. The win goes to the mutants this time. Winner: Young X-Men (3-1) Batman & Friends (0-1) Match 5 - Brian Ailshie Street Fighters vs 13th Nightmare Group A - Camp Crystal Lake Brian: Honestly this one is already pointless so let's get it over with. John Madden: Ok, let's put it into fast motion. <click> the view screens become a blur Brian: Oh, that was rather stomach turning. Madden: Too fast? Brian: No I was referring to the 'horror' show that just happened. Stacey: I don't watch horror shows, but you're going to tell us anyway, so get it over with. Brian: Thanks. Freddy disembowled Chun-Li and Col Guile. Vorhees and Meyers tag-teamed Vega and removed him from the match, bit by bit. And lastly Blanka hit Chucky with his lightning attack and super charged his batteries. The demon toy was then too much for Blanka to handle. It seems that 13th Nightmare takes this one in a flawless victory. Stacey: Ok, can we move on now. Mr. Statistics: Sure thing. Winners: 13th Nightmare (2-2) Street Fighters (1-3) Match 6 - Robert Newell The Classic Monsters vs The Mongol Horde Group A - Crystal Lake Campground, Michigan The Mongol Horde is not only totally lacking in the necessities of monster fighting (silver weapons, stakes, holy water, etc) they also don't even come from societies that would know that you need these things. After shooting many arrows at the Wolfman (and having them bounce harmlessly off of his hide), Dracula appears behind the Mongol Horde. In just a few short minutes, four new vampires were in service to Dracula. Winners: The Classic Monsters (3-1) The Mongol Horde (1-3) #2 Seed Group A, Vampire Slayers #1 Seed |
