| Match 1 - Brian Ailshie Big Monsters vs The Terminators Group X - Downtown LA John Madden: Well this one starts with a boom. And I mean a real 'tough actin' Tenactin BOOM! The Rancor steps on Arnie version Terminator . . . Schwarzeneggar: He's a T-800 model. Madden: yeah, anyway. The weight of the monster bursts the battery back of the guy, and he EXPLODES!!! Of course this ain't a good thing for the Rancor. With it's leg blown off, it bleeds to death, in a rather surprisingly quick time too. Tolkien: Now a smart enemy would see the folly of stepping on a foe and change tactics. However the Big Monsters are not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. Madden: Yeah, see here's Godzilla, he stomps on the T-1000 and it does nothing. The T-1000 simply melts to the side. WOAH! Now the T-1000 is climbing the giant lizard like the monkey bars on a playground. Except he's jabbing his arms straight into the lizard the whole way up! Godzilla howls in pain, and cratches at himself trying in vain to loosen the robot from his body. Schwarzeneggar: Cybernetic life form. Madden: Huh? Schwarzeneggar: He's not a robot, he's a cybernetic alloy, with a computerized life chip. Madden: Whatever he is he's annihilated Godzilla. Now he turns to help the TX version against the giant monkey. Peter Jackson: His name is Kong. King Kong. Madden: I know, I know. I'm trying to be descriptive. Jaime: And failing miserably as usual. Madden: Ok girly, I've had about all I can stand of you . . . (he lunges at her with his electronic marker, and is ejected from the booth. Mr. Statistics: Well, it seems that the match is over. The Terminators have kept the Big Monsters from joining the other 7 teams who have swept their groupings. Though, with a 3-1 record, they are nearly assured a spot in the Tournament, even if it's just a Wild Card Spot. Winners: Terminators (2-1) Big Monsters (3-1) Match 2 - Mark Ailshie Street Fighters vs. Classic Monsters Group A - Camp Crystal Lake Under the trees of Camp Crystal Lake, Blanka and the wolfman spy one another across a clearing. Twin howls of rage erupt from their throats, and the two feral animals leap at each other in a fury of claws, teeth and pulsing adrenalin. The cries of pain and rage split the night. Chun-Li hears the sounds of fighting and steels herself for battle. But a strange fog oozes through the trees toward her. Chun-Li tries to use her hurricane kick to drive the fog away, but to no effect. The fog envelops her, and suddenly takes monstrous shape as Count Dracula appears behind her and seizes her by the throat. Chun-Li fights desperately, but is no match for the strength of the vampire. His fangs clamp down on her neck, and he begins to feed. Col. Guile hears Chun-Li's cry of alarm, and moves in that direction. He curses the fog that is obscuring the battlefield. Finally, the full moon comes out from behind the clouds, and bathes the clearing in eerie light. Guile spots Chun-Li, white from blood loss, the Vampire lord still attached to her neck. Dracula spies Guile, and smiles, Chun-Li's blood running over his lips. He thrusts the dead girl aside and beckons to him. Guile grits his teeth, pulls power into his arms and launches it at the count. "Sonic BOOOM!!" Menawhile, Imhotep marches regally between the trees, daring any of these pathetic mortals to face him. All of a sudden, there is a cry as if from a bird of prey and Vega, the Spanish Ninja, leaps out of one of the trees, seizes Imhotep around the waist and drives the ancient Egyptian's head into the ground. Imhotep is groggy, but Vega doesn't let up on the attack, leaping, kicking, and sweeping the mummy to the ground. Vega's speed is just too much for the mummy, and in short order, Vega's steel claw pierces Imhotep's undead skull, and the mummy falls. Vega turns a back-flip and holds his fist up in the air, as he always does when he defeats a foe. But his victory dance is cut short when the powerful arms of Frankenstein's monster suddenly snatch him into a full nelson. Vega struggles, but the Monster is far too strong for him to escape. Vega, on the other hand, is a bit too supple for the monster to break his neck. The two are in a momentary stalemate. Blanka and the Wolfman suddenly roll into the same clearing, still biting and scratching. Blanka has a slight edge at the moment, and flies through the air in a cannonball attack, striking the wolfman in the face. Blanka leaps into his face, biting down on the wolfman's neck. The werewolf howls and whips Blanka aside, slamming the Brazilian fighter into a tree. The wolf leaps to attack again, but this time Blanka crouches down and sends out his electric shock. The wolfman is enveloped in power, and is shocked to death. Blanka roars in triumph. "Blanka, help me!" calls Vega, and Blanka turns to regard Vega and Frank. With another howl of rage, Blanka leaps at Frank, and blasts out his electric shock. Unfortunately, that means the shock hits Vega as well, and Frankenstein's monster has a different reaction to electricity than might have been hoped. The reanimated dead muscles surge in strength again, as if given new life. The monster sighs in ecstasy and snaps Vega's neck like an old twig. He bats Blanka against a tree. "Well done," says an urbane voice. Dracula strides into the clearing, the blood from Col. Guiles' smashed head still glistening on his hands. "I believe this is the last of them." Blanka squares off against the two most famous and powerful monsters in history. He is well aware of his chances. But he roars in fury anyway, and leaps into battle! Blanka's intense charge takes Dracula momentarily by surprise. The green street-fighter cannonballs into Dracula's face and knocks him down. He back-flips and kicks Frankenstein's monster in the face, then leaps up with a dropkick. The monster shrugs off the dropkick and seizes Blanka in his monstrous grip. Dracula stands before them, his nose broken, and stares with rage at Blanka. "Hold him," the Count commands. "This one will serve us well." Thus, the Monster holds Blanka while Count Dracula feeds, making Blanka one of his undead servants. The moment he dies, the judges rule the match is over. Winners: Classic Monsters (1-1) Street Fighters (1-1) Match 3 - Brian Ailshie Rohirrim vs Masters of the Universe Group H - Castle Greyskull Brian: Now this looks familiar. The Rohirrim charge He-Man while he is astride Battle-Cat. Their spears are blocked though by He-Man's power sword, but two still strike Battle Cat and he is no more. Theoden, and Eowyn lunge from their horses and engage He-Man and She-Ra as she joins the fight. Meanwhile, Eomer attacks Man-at-Arms as he follows She-Ra into the fray. It seems though that He-Man's trusted advisor is no match for Eomer. Eomer behead's him on the second blow. He runs to join his uncle who is fairing poorly against He-Man. Eowyn and She-Ra seem equally matched, and they trade blow after blow, with neither seeming to grow tired. They circle the corpse of the giant cat, and Eowyn takes a glancing blow to her thigh as she seems to stumble at one point. However the blow barely slows her and the fight continues. Eomer reaches his uncle as He-Man batters Theoden to the ground. Eomer rakes his sword across He-man's unguarded back, as Theoden takes a deathblow from the Master of the Universe. Now it's down to Eomer and Eowyn against She-Ra. Before Eomer can turn and help his sister however, the battle enters its final stage. She-Ra's blows are starting to slow the Rohirrim princess, and she seems to barely block a blow with her shield. Then she lunges with her sword. She off balances her opponent, but leaves herself momentarily defenseless. She-Ra sees the opening and rams her sword home as she back-pedals away from Eowyn's strike. Eowyn slumps to the ground, but She-Ra looks at her chest in confusion. She feels intense pain, but knows that the Rohirrim's last blow missed. Then she sees the spear point protruding from her sternum. In her haste to move back, she ran into the spear that missed Battle Cat. When Eowyn seemed to stumble, she was actually propping the spear against the dead cat's corpse. She then forced her opponent against it. She-Ra gurgles, then falls to the ground. Mr. Statistics: Now if the Rohirrim can beat the Jedi Knights they will most likely still advance, even if it's only as a Wild Card. Brian: Of course, that's a big if. Remember that if Jedi Knights win, they join the 7 other teams who have swept their groups. Winners: Rohirrim (2-1) Masters of the Universe (0-3) Match 4 - Brian Ailshie A-Team vs Iron Men Group X - Downtown LA B.A. Barracus: Yo fool. Over here! Lucas: Seeing that he has the Bionic Duo's attention he starts to run. Of course their enhanced muscles allow them to gain on him quickly. He rounds a corner and they are right behind him. He hefts the hidden M-16 and blasts them both. Tolkien: He looks up as a Helicopter flies overhead. B.A.: Crazy fool. Tolkien: Yes, the copter is piloted by 'Mad' Murdock; who sees another being in the air. He fires a rocket and takes Iron Man from the sky. Power suit broken, Iron Man is defenseless, when B.A. trains his M-16 that way. Lucas: Now the A-Team has to take out the Iron Giant. That may prove a little more difficult as the alien machine is tremendously large, and made of a largely indestructible alloy. Tolkien: It seems they've worked those details out as well. B.A. opens fire with his M-16, and the Iron Giant moves to crush him. The bullets are no use. However, as he steps between two large skyscrapers, they explode and topple on him. That onslaught is followed by rockets from the chopper that Murdock is flying. Mark: Speaking of which, where did that come from anyway? Brian: It seems that the A-Team knew of a military depot in the area, broke in, and made use of the facilities. Hannibal: I love it when a plan comes together! Winners: A-Team (3-1) Iron Men (0-3) |
