Well every rocket ship needs a captain right? I knew from my Disney issued hearing test that I would be working Tomorrowland Attractions. I was quite excited, after working foods last program. There was an aire of hesitation though, the dreaded Speedway. Ugh, please do not place me there. Fortunately I was assigned to Space Mountain and the story begins...

Training was done with Corrie and our trainer Brucinda. What a wonderful time we had. 5 days of running track, twice! Pushing buttons, reading 500 page manuals, discussing drips, 105's and more secret code talk. The Captain had yet to make his appearance until a few weeks later.... |

...one night David was holding a breakdown class so me and Corrie extended and took over the control tower. While fooling with the walki-talkie I gave myself a code name, Captain Ben when communicating with Dave and his trainee. The name stuck and hanceforth I became known as Captain Ben. As far as I know, my autograph is still in storage A and B side. Summer of 2002. |
