Okay, here's the product of 3 hours research and burnt in memories from being an obsessive fan.

As you can see, this is a timeline of the Freddy and Jason movies.

Now, starting from the year of release of the orginal film of each series and then jumping ahead in fictional time how much the story states(I.E "it was 5 years ago Jason's mom killed everyone") plus, estimating the years of Tommy Jarvis growing up, and estimating a year in between immediate sequils since it's always summer, well ta-da.

As you can see here,the years of the sequils line up quite nicely into one neatly arranged saga.

It is also interesting to note that the release dates of the films catch up with the fictional time of the Jason flicks a couple times.  I jumped "Jason Goes to Hell", up to 2003 to take place after "Freddy's Dead", otherwise how is Freddy in hell to take Jason's mask right?

The begining of "Freddy's Dead", says it's "10 years from now", I assume "now", to mean the release year of the film (1992). I've safely predicted Jason part 10 (official title "Jason X") to take place in 2400 since official reports on the leaked script set it "400 years in the future", (That's right kiddies, Jason in space! At last!).

"Freddy vs. Jason", is finally on the track to production, the script just needs final tweaking and could come out spring of this year or next year at the latest so I left 2000 and 2001 open on the timeline.

I chose those years because following my continuity, it would be simpler to set it in the year of production of the film and have the characters in their pre-death/hell incarnations.

You'll notice Freddy part 7 is anomolous because it jumps back to 1994. It takes place in the present in the "real world", so that takes it outside the "reel world", Freddy-verse yet there's the whole dream within dream movie within movie thing going on in wich it's aware of being a movie so that wormholes it back into the Freddy world kinda. So, even though I consider that film to be apocryphal, I chose to include it on the timeline anyway just for completeness sake.

I'm so impressed with myself. Now if only this skill could be put to applicable use. Hmm, maybe I should try to splice all the other horror killers in.

Jason's mask, Freddy's glove, Michael myer's mask, and Leatherface's chainsaw, were in the evidence locker in "Bride of Chucky". Hmm. :-)
